Denza officially launched the 2026 N8L Megawatt Flash-Charge Edition on June 23, aiming to strengthen its position in China’s crowded premium new-energy SUV market. Denza GM Li Hui unveils N8L pricing at launch event. The large six-seat plug-in hybrid SUV comes in two variants, priced at RMB 319.8K ($46.9K) and RMB 349.8K ($51.3K). The update focuses on two areas: driving range, charging speed. Battery capacity rises from 46.9 kWh to a 75.26-kWh second-generation Blade Battery. CLTC pure-electric range jumps from 230 km to 430 km. Total CLTC driving range reaches 1,550 km. NEDC fuel consumption in charge-depleted mode stands at 5.7 liters per 100 km. Charging capability receives an even larger upgrade. The vehicle adopts BYD’s flash-charging technology. Denza says charging from 10% to 97% takes just nine minutes under normal temperatures. At minus 30 degrees Celsius, the process still takes only 12 minutes. Despite carrying an “8” badge, the N8L’s specifications now sit closer to many of the market’s flagship “9-series” SUVs. All versions retain the DiSus-A intelligent suspension system, BYD’s e³ technology platform, a tri-motor independent-drive setup. The SUV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The refresh arrives only nine months after the previous N8L entered the market, noticeably faster than the roughly annual product-update cycle common across the industry. Denza N8L For Denza, the model serves two purposes. It aims to reverse weak sales momentum. It also addresses one of the vehicle’s most visible competitive weaknesses. Sales peaked shortly after launch. The N8L sold 5.4K units in November 2025, followed by 6.5K units in December. Demand then cooled sharply. Cumulative sales between January and May 2026 totaled only 8.1K units. Part of the slowdown reflects broader weakness in China’s auto market this year. Policy changes, softer consumer demand have weighed on industry volumes. Competition has also intensified. Automakers including IM Motors, Leapmotor have introduced flagship SUVs with larger battery packs. As battery size increasingly becomes a selling point in the large-SUV segment, the previous N8L’s battery specification began to look less competitive. Pricing places the updated N8L directly within the core battleground of China’s premium new-energy SUV market. Denza is betting its combination of 430-km electric range, flash-charging capability, DiSus-A suspension, e³ platform, aggressive pricing can help carve out a clearer competitive edge. Beyond China, Denza continues to expand overseas. The brand has entered multiple markets across Asia, Europe. Its portfolio now spans MPVs, performance-oriented GT models, rugged SUVs. Denza D9 previously launched in Indonesia. The D9 is already on sale in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore. By May 2026, cumulative D9 deliveries in Indonesia had exceeded 10K units. Retail sales during the first five months of the year approached 4K units, placing the model among the country’s leading luxury MPVs. In Europe, the Z9GT launched in seven markets in April, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain. The rollout marks another step in Denza’s effort to build a broader global presence beyond China.
