The soon-to-debut model updates are so extensive that some people say it's an all-new model rather than a typical facelift or refresh. GM Authority has now uncovered something even more important: the production date.AdvertisementAdvertisementSources familiar with the matter have disclosed that the start of production date is on October 19th, 2026. Dealerships will be able to start encoding preliminary order details and information into GM's system on August 6, 2026. It is also being reported that the first dealership orders are expected to be submitted by September 17, 2026.To accommodate the production of the new model, the current one will need to give way. Interestingly, nobody is sure if the refreshed model will debut in 2027 or 2028, which means the expected 2027 may not feature any, if not all, of the above-mentioned updates, though we can expect a few new things for 2027 at the very least. The current model has been in production and on sale since 2023, with 2027 marking the halfway point and ripe for an industry-standard mid-cycle refresh. Time will tell which new model debuts in 2027 or 2028.Kyle EdwardThis story was originally published by Autoblog on May 29, 2026, where it first appeared in the News section.
