It also makes assisted and semi-automated driving even easier to understand, as the dynamic 3D view overlays those inputs in real time. The car is shown within its lane and at the correct level, with the surrounding vehicles also depicted on the central infotainment screen, which is useful when driving on multi-lane highways or busy urban areas. The new navigation system will particularly come in handy a few months from now, as the German automaker is gearing up to deploy navigation-guided, semi-automated driving in urban areas in Germany in 2027, with more countries to follow.Until that happens, owners of the new BMW iX3 crossover can use the Highway Assistant 2 system, which enables hands-free driving on highways at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour (130 kilometers per hour). In addition to the first Neue Klasse EV, the upcoming i3, iX5, and facelifted i7 will also get the same features.BMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceAdvertisementAdvertisementBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceAdvertisementAdvertisementBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceAdvertisementAdvertisementBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceAdvertisementAdvertisementBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceAdvertisementAdvertisementBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW Maps With Driver AssistanceBMW's all-in-one 3D navigation system was developed in-house but uses navigation data and map technology from Mapbox, which provides information about lanes, landmarks, and other physical features. The automaker said that the updated Maps feature with driver assistance is available only in combination with the latest Highway Assistant or Highway & City Assistant system in select countries, cities, and on select roads. The promotional video that showcases the new features was shot in the United States, so logic dictates that it will work here, but the company didn't say which cities or roads are compatible.Related StoriesFord Is Switching To Apple Maps For Its Next-Gen EV NavigationThe Lucid Gravity's Latest Update Brings Hands-Free Driving And Google Maps InformationGoogle Maps Is Bringing EV Route Planning To Android AutoTesla's Awesome Supercharger Map Update Takes The Guesswork Out Of Finding A Plug
