OverviewGenesis's first hybrid is a good one, a new variant of the brand's most luxurious SUV, the GV80. Coming soon to a Genesis showroom near you, the GV80 Hybrid is powered by a 347-hp hybrid powertrain that should deliver both perky performance as well as good fuel economy.Everything that makes the nonhybrid GV80 one of our favorite luxury SUVs carries over to the hybrid version, including a decadent cabin and contemporary infotainment and safety tech. Three rows of seats are standard, and while the rearmost row is a space best suited for kids, the GV80's interior is otherwise roomy and comfortable.Expert Tip: The GV80 Hybrid joins a growing market of mid-size luxury SUVs with gas-electric powertrains, and it's a competitive bunch that includes winners such as the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid, the Mercedes-Benz GLE450e, and the Volvo XC90 T8.What's New for 2027?While the three-row GV80 has been a fixture in the luxury SUV segment for several years, the GV80 Hybrid is new for 2027. To differentiate it from the nonhybrid, Genesis has given it a unique grille and wheel designs. So far, there's no word on whether the two-row Coupe body style will also be available in hybrid form.Pricing and Which One to BuyGenesis hasn't announced pricing for the GV80 Hybrid yet, but we expect it to carry a slight price premium over the nonhybrid variant. We also expect to see a range of trim levels with ever-increasing levels of equipment. Even the lower trims boast posh features like burled wood trim, metal brightwork, and the brand's mood curator, which adjusts the lighting, sound, and scent of the cabin to match the driver's selected mood. The 27.0-inch dash display looks clean and contemporary, the front seats are comfortable and supportive, and the driver's chair is available with a massage function.Second Row: All trims come with a three-across bench for the second row.
