It takes over features such as Boost mode, an electronic limited-slip differential, and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 while adding substantially more power plus broader chassis, cooling, brake, and software upgrades. The remaining lineup is simplified to RWD, 19-inch AWD, and Prestige AWD.Non-Magma models lose some content. The Vision Roof and roof rails, previously standard, are now reserved for Prestige, and rear model, powertrain, and drivetrain badging disappears. Ceres Blue joins the exterior palette as Mauna Red and Capri Blue depart, while the Aqua Green/Galaxy Black and Sky Blue/Prussian Blue interiors are dropped. Built on a Genesis-specific eMP platform, the electric flagship uses a 123.5-kWh battery and dual-motor AWD producing 657 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Genesis estimates more than 310 miles of range, while 800-volt charging should take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 22 minutes. Air suspension, electronically controlled dampers, and four-wheel steering round out the chassis hardware.AdvertisementAdvertisementMost GV90s will seat up to seven, but the range-topping Neolun pushes deeper into ultra-luxury territory with pillarless coach doors, swiveling front seats, available four-seat accommodations, and an executive-style rear console with a refrigerator and fold-out tables. Both versions get Genesis' new Pleos Connect software, available 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio, and a 23.6-inch display that can rise into a larger viewing screen while parked.Read Our Experts' Full Genesis GV90 Review7) Genesis Gran Equator: Future ModelPhoto credit: MotorTrend - MotorTrendGenesis could move into a more rugged corner of the luxury SUV market with a production version of the X Gran Equator concept. Revealed in 2025, the concept previews a boxier design direction than the brand's current road-focused SUVs, with generous ground clearance, off-road tires, a split tailgate, integrated roof rails, and a minimalist cabin built around small round digital gauges instead of a broad display panel. Genesis has said elements of the design will influence future products, although the Gran Equator itself has not been confirmed for production. If it does reach showrooms, a production Gran Equator could target vehicles such as the Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz G-Class and arrive around late 2027, likely as a 2028 model. Powertrain details remain speculative, but Genesis' expansion into gas, hybrid, EV, and extended-range EV propulsion leaves several possibilities open.AdvertisementAdvertisementRead Our Experts' Full Genesis Gran Equator Review8) Genesis GV70 EREV: Future ModelPhoto credit: MotorTrend - MotorTrendGenesis is preparing its first extended-range electric SUV for an early-2027 reveal, and we think it will be a GV70. Parent company Hyundai has confirmed that the upcoming Genesis EREV SUV will target more than 640 miles of total range, using a gasoline engine as an onboard generator rather than driving the wheels directly. The presentation announcing the vehicle appeared to show a GV70, although Genesis has not formally confirmed the name. The EREV will also use Hyundai's latest in-house battery-cell technology, which the company says can deliver more than twice the output of its previous high-nickel cells while cutting charging time by 40 percent. Hyundai has previously said its North American EREV strategy would begin with D-segment SUVs from both Hyundai and Genesis, further supporting the case for a GV70-based model.9) Genesis GV80 Hybrid: Future ModelPhoto credit: MotortrendThe GV80 Hybrid is set to become the first production Genesis to use the brand's new next-generation hybrid system. A 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder works with electric assistance for a combined 352 PS, which Genesis says represents roughly 16 percent more output and 26 percent more torque than the regular GV80 2.5T. The system also brings EV-like regenerative braking, predictive energy management, and a Stay Mode that can power vehicle functions without idling the engine.AdvertisementAdvertisementHybrid-specific changes extend beyond the powertrain, including a unique grille, wheels, trim, and upholstery treatments. Genesis says the model will launch in Korea in September 2026, but a U.S. model year, price, and on-sale date have not yet been announced.10) 2027 Genesis SUVs: What's newPhoto credit: Genesis2027 Genesis GV60: Minor update2027 Genesis GV70: Minor update2027 Genesis Electrified GV70: Minor update2027 Genesis GV80: Minor update2027 Genesis GV80 Coupe: Minor update2028 Genesis GV90: All-new modelGenesis Gran Equator: Future modelGenesis GV70 EREV: Future modelGenesis GV80 Hybrid: Future model
