What are the defining characteristics of a ? Is it the engine? The drive type? The aggressive looks? If door-count is among your qualifiers, you're sadly mistaken.I know you're ready to fire off a well-justified rant about a car you don't like with too many doors, pretending it's a muscle car. We've all got examples of cars we think fit that bill. That doesn't mean they're all bad, though. There are a ton of four-door muscle cars that are absolute killers you and your whole crew would love to tear it up in. I'd even go as far as to say that a select few even look better than their coup counterparts.Don't worry. I'm happy to persuade you. I've rounded up a list of ten absolutely awesome four-door muscle cars that'll change your tune. Those of you who are already on this side of the fence should feel free to drop a comment highlighting any of your favorite models I missed along the way. 1967 Impala Four-Door Hardtop Horsepower: 275 HP BringATrailerAs soon as they saw the headline, fans of the CW show Supernatural were screaming about the 1967 Impala four-door hardtop. I'm right there with you. This car is hands down the best-looking four-door muscle car ever made, if not the best-looking car with four doors, period. The 1967 Chevrolet Impala is a stunner in all trim levels. However, the stretched roofline of the post-less four-door hardtop makes it the most beautiful version. Its long, sweeping, and sinister shape is undeniably gorgeous. It's hard to understand how GM kept the design for just one year. The car in the show is equipped with a 327 small block that would have made 275 horsepower and 355 lb-ft of torque, with a quarter-mile time of 16.1 seconds. It's no rocket in stock form, but it's a golden-age Chevy; you'd have to try not to make more power with aftermarket parts. 1967 Lincoln Continental Horsepower: 340 HP via Bring A TrailerHere we have another muscle car immortalized by film. Rather than hunting ghosts, it was the cross-country hauler of choice in the Dax Sheppard film Hit and Run. I’m speaking, of course, about the 1967 Lincoln Continental. While the 1967 Continental in the film was far more powerful than what came standard, the bodylines and profound styling still make it a site to behold. Lincoln equipped these with a monstrous 462 cubic-inch V8 that produced 340 horsepower and 485 lb-ft of torque. Now, you're not winning any races with a 17-second quarter-mile time, but you'll sure look good trying anyway. Second-Gen Cadillac CTS-V Horsepower: 400 HP Cadillac Remember when the Cadillac CTS-V showed up? Everyone's minds were blown by the fact that Cadillac stuffed a Corvette engine into one of its flagship luxury cars. Sure, it's always put great big engines in its land yachts, but this took things to a whole new level. The second-gen Cadillac CTS-V has a strong chance of being the coolest car on this list. Not just because it had a 5.7 LS6 producing 400 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque, it also came with an optional 6-speed manual. If you could row gears, you could send this Cadillac through the traps in 13.1 seconds, all while sitting comfortably. Chevrolet SS Horsepower: 415 HP Bring A Trailer The Chevrolet SS is the four-door muscle car you didn't know about. These things were produced from 2013-2017, utilizing some of Chevrolet's best equipment. Still, it was short-lived, making it one of the more elusive performance cars on the roadways. This was Chevrolet's version of the Holden Commodore, which gives it major cool points among the niche car crowd. It had a 6.2-liter LS3 under the hood that could throw down 415 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque and could be backed with a 6-speed manual transmission. It may have had four doors, but it could run the quarter in 13 seconds flat, making it a terror on wheels for unsuspecting challengers. 1966 Dodge Coronet Hemi Sedan Horsepower: 425 HP Mecum If you want rare, this is as rare as it gets. The 1966 Coronet four-door may be among the most "grandpa" looking cars on this list, but Dodge did make a few monsters out of them. Dodge built five 1966 Coronet four-doors with fabled Hemi engines under the hood.To be more specific, five 1966 Coronet four-door models were equipped with 426 Hemi engines. Yes. The elephant engine that took NASCAR by storm and still dominates top fuel racing to this day. While street Hemis were rated to produce 425 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque, a weekend's worth of work could really wake them up. Two-door Coronets with similar equipment could run the quarter in 14.5 seconds, with elbow grease making them dangerously fast. You might not get your hands on an original, but building a clone is something we could all dream about. Chrysler 300C Horsepower: 485 HP Chrysler The Dodge Charger's sister platform, the Chrysler 300C, has to be one of the most underrated sleepers of all time. They may have been targeted at the luxury market, but Chrysler did give them a ton of muscle to move around with. The V6 was standard, but you could bump up to a Hemi if you wanted. The Chrysler 300C wasn't the first of the 300s to get Hemi power. In fact, the 1956 300B was the first car to make one horsepower per cubic inch with a 354 Hemi under its hood. This time around, the most potent 2023 300C came with a 6.4-liter Hemi, hurling out 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. It's a four-door luxury car that could clear the quarter in 12.4 seconds. That's a good time on wheels. Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Horsepower: 668 HP Cadillac As far as four-door cars currently on the market go, theCadillac CT5-V Blackwing is the baddest of the batch. It's yet another monstrosity that blends muscle and luxury, making it the car of choice for folks who like their class with a side of badass.Like its predecessors, this is a Cadillac with a Corvette engine under the hood. More specifically, it's rolling with the 6.2-liter LT4 supercharged V8. The Cadillac CT5-V is rated to produce 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. That's enough to hurl this thing down the quarter mile in just 11.6 seconds. While there are people who know what this thing is when it rolls up, that Cadillac badge still makes it one of the meanest sleepers on wheels, and all your friends can come to watch you shatter dreams. Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye Horsepower: 797 HP DodgeNot everyone was on board with a four-door Dodge Charger when the flagship muscle car was revived for its sixth generation. Heck, some of us still have yet to forgive Dodge for doing it. But, pretend for a second that it was named something else. Suddenly, it doesn't seem like such a bad car.The seventh-generation Dodge Charger came in swinging with a far more aggressive styling than its predecessor. It also featured far more potent power plants alongside the proven 5.7 Hemi, including the 392 and 6.2-liter Hellcat engines. In its second-most potent form, the 2022 Hellcat Redeye Charger hurled itself through the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds with its 797-horsepower, 707 lb-ft supercharged 6.2 under its hood. Moving to a Jailbreak edition made it even meaner. Maybe it does live up to the Charger name after all, huh?
