The Highlander is one of Toyota's biggest nameplates, and it was recently revealed that the 2027 version will be all electric. The massive changes are not just focused on the powertrain, because the three-row SUV sports a complete overhaul, inside and out. Far handsomer, sleeker, and more futuristic than before, the new Highlander is a big deal for Toyota, and choosing this nameplate for the latest of its EVs is no coincidence. This is the first electric three-row SUV from the brand, and the first to be assembled in the US. Although Toyota has gone a little edgier with it's latest RAV4, it's the latest batch of EVs that show the brand's new design language, with the exterior of the 2027 Highlander, the bZ, and C-HR having some futuristic similarities.ToyotaThe new Highlander interior has been substantially updated, with the automaker saying the "cabin has an elevated feel" designed to be stylish, spacious, and feature cutting-edge technology.Toyota There are three rows of seating inside the 2027 Toyota Highlander, with seating for up to seven when equipped with the available bench seat. FWD Highlanders have 221 horsepower combined, while the 2027 Highlander AWD makes 338 hp.Toyota2027 Highlander models with the larger 95.8-kWh battery will be able to go for around 320 miles before needing to recharge.
