2027 Genesis GV60 Magma Starts at $71,495GenesisWe drove the 2027 Genesis GV60 Magma exactly one month ago to the day today, which makes Thursday an oddly appropriate time to announce that the new performance crossover finally has a U.S. price. This EV will sticker starting at $71,495, including destination. That price makes it about $10,000 more than its sister car, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N that recently saw a hefty price cut. Such a price premium is to be expected for all the luxury features and accoutrements that come with the Magma. The Hyundai is equipped quite handsomely, but the GV60 amps the luxury up from a design and material perspective by a wide margin by way of touches like the 27-inch OLED screen, quilted and contrasted-stitch surfaces, and Bang & Olufsen audio system, among many other touches.Zac PalmerAs we learned in the first drive, the GV60 Magma is similar, but not identical, to the Ioniq 5 N in how it behaves. It has the same simulated gear shifts and mimics the sound of an engine, but the specific engine and torque curve it simulates is entirely different from the sound that plays over the Ioniq 5 N's speakers. The drive I had in Korea was short, though, so a thorough test on American soil will be necessary to deliver a true verdict on whether or not the GV60 Magma is a solid buy.AdvertisementAdvertisementOutside of the Ioniq 5 N benchmarking, the Magma's price compares well to its luxury competition. A Porsche Macan GTS Electric starts over $35,000 more than the Magma, and you'd need to add plenty of options to have equal equipment. Meanwhile, the Cadillac Optiq-V comes in a couple grand less than the Genesis before options. There won't be much choice when it comes to building your Magma. Genesis says it comes in Magma Orange, Uyuni White, Vik Black, and Makalu Gray Matte. All of them will have the same black interior with Magma Orange stitching, too. Availability will be limited at launch, as Genesis says it's sending the first GV60 Magmas to dealers in California, New York, and New Jersey "in the coming weeks."Korean-spec GV60 Magma shown here with white interior stitching, an option that won't be offered here.Zac PalmerYou Might Also LikeIf You Can Only Own One Car, Make It One of TheseThese Are the Most Popular Cars by State
