Off-road fans, especially Ram pickup loyalists, are in for a real treat. That's because the American pickup truck brand just brought back the 1500 Rebel X for 2026.Ram decided to listen to its customers, and so this package will now get more tech, more comfort, more off-road tricks, all the while without going full luxury-truck pricing. But you can be the judge of that after you check out what all the new Rebel X has to offer. The Rebel 1500 With The Extra Sauce For Off-Road Adventures Ram The new 2026 Rebel X isn’t a whole separate truck model, instead it’s an upgrade package that stacks on top of a Ram 1500 Rebel with the Level 2 Equipment Group, and it comes paired with Ram’s 3.0-liter SO Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six. That engine is no joke. It makes 420 hp and 469 lb-ft of torque, which is the kind of power that can fling a full-size truck forward way harder than you’d probably expect. And, it really does not matter what type of terrain it drives over, it’s still going have one heck of a punch. But, what makes the Rebel X really special, aside from the powerful engine, is all the tech and upgrades it gets. The new big flex is a feature called Rough Road Cruise Control, and it’s only offered on the Rebel X. If you’ve ever been off-roading and wished you could keep a steady speed without constantly messing with the throttle, this is exactly that. The system holds a steady pace off-road at speeds up to 20 mph, while also adjusting steering weight based on the terrain. It's basically a semi-autonomous mode if you want to look at it like that. It allows the driver to focus more on stuff like wheel placement, rocks, ruts, and not doing something dumb that gets you stuck. A cheat code for amateur off-roaders perhaps? To keep the truck going, it needs to have the hardware goods, and boy does the Rebel X get that too. It comes with a 1-inch suspension lift, Bilstn monotube shocks, an electronic locking rear differential, and underbody skid plates to help protect the vehicle over difficult terrain. You also get front tow hooks for when your buddy’s show-off performance turns into a recovery situation. To keep all of this moving, it sits on black 18-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch all-terrain tires. Luxury Without The Added Price Ram Inside the cabin, Ram went for a mix of rugged and comfort. The Rebel X builds on the Rebel Level 2 setup and adds extra style and luxury upgrades that make it feel more premium without going full bougie mode. There's a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a console-mounted performance shifter, and steering wheel paddle shifters, which feels kind of hilarious in a big off-road pickup. The seats are upgraded too, with premium leather and vinyl and red accent stitching, plus a slick little touch with a glass-encased Rebel X badge in the center console. The Level 2 tech stays front and center, and you get a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a massive 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, plus a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system that can absolutely shake your mirrors if you feel like being that person. There’s also a 10.25-inch passenger display, and Ram includes dual wireless charging pads so you’re not fighting over who gets to charge their phone. Throw in heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel, and suddenly this off-road truck feels like it's meant for much older customers — or maybe younger ones too.A new paint color called Tank Clear-Coat has also been introduced. It’s inspired by military green, and it debuts on the Rebel X, with availability expanding to select other Ram 1500 models too.The bottom line here really is that Ram wants to show-off, and this is a pretty good package to do that with. Orders are already open, and pricing starts at $71,930 including destination, which is not exactly cheap, but it does not seem over the top either.
