While the electric vehicle looks like it comes straight from the future and is marketed as having high towing potential, it's apparently not as powerful as many might think at first.Hilarious video shows Cybertruck needing to be towed itselfThe video, which has received over 640,000 likes and been shared over 150,000 times on TikTok, shows a Cybertruck attempting to tow a gray boat dubbed "Spike Island" up a slight incline. Its wheels are able to grip onto the stone slabs in the makeshift road, and it slowly hauls the craft, along with a few passengers watching from above. But about eight seconds in, the vehicle stops moving forward. One jump cut later and the Cybertruck is finally accelerating. But that's only because the vehicle has been hitched to another truck in the distance. It's at the end of the video that the camera pans to a dark gray Dodge Ram pulling both the Cybertruck and the boat to safety.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe TikTok might as well be an advertisement for the Ram.Commenters on the video mercilessly piled on the CyberTruck for its lackluster performance. One wrote, "I'm legitimately surprised the cybertruck could be a functional chain link." Another responded, "For a second I thought I'd seen the rare cybertruck that could actually do something useful."One comment sums up the TikTok brilliantly: "Oh my god is the cybertuck actually working for on- oh nvm there's an actual truck pulling it."The Cybertruck's poor towing ability was confirmed by JerryRigEverything in a YouTube video in 2025 that has garnered over 2.3 million views.AdvertisementAdvertisement"The Cybertruck is not a rigid stainless steel exoskeleton supertruck, like it was advertised," host Zack Nelson explains. "It is a soft, supple, porous, Mohs 3 level cast aluminum (truck) with the towing ability of a pop can."The post Video Shows Tesla Cybertruck Failing to Tow Boat, Driver Has to Ask For Help From More Powerful Truck appeared first on Mandatory.
