While driving, users can review incoming mail, keep their schedule in order, buy things online, and have the assistant walk them through ongoing threads and stored documents.The rollout arrives weeks after an engineer at SpaceXAI signaled that Tesla planned to bring Grok Bot into its vehicles, moving the feature from an experimental web tool into an active in-cabin agent. It builds on functionality already available through Grok in Tesla cabins, where the assistant can configure navigation, set location-based reminders, and control cabin climate and other vehicle settings by voice.The distinction with Grok Bot is task delegation rather than in-car control. There is no standalone program to open on the center display; instead the agent operates from within Grok's current interface. Drivers can rouse it by tapping the Grok app in the App Launcher, holding the steering-wheel microphone button, or saying "Hey Grok." From there, Tesla says users can trigger a routine coffee run, book appointments and complete purchases over the web.Early access users demonstrated the workflow on the road. In one demo, a driver ordered a Starbucks drink while Full Self-Driving navigated through town, Grok routed the vehicle to the store, confirmed the drink and card total, and submitted the order so it was ready when the car parked. Productivity tasks work the same way. A dedicated agent, described as a Chief of Staff bot, can compose and dispatch emails, add calendar entries, and go through files, while shopping bots confirm Amazon cart items and check out using saved payment details.AdvertisementAdvertisementAccessing third-party services requires Connectors, secure integrations for external tools like Gmail and Google Calendar that let Grok Bot reach a user's information. They are set up inside the Grok app under a New Connector menu, and once added, Grok Bot uses them automatically.For now, only SuperGrok Heavy subscribers can use Grok Bot, but Tesla says additional tiers will get it in later rollouts. Connectors remain open to anyone. Tesla is also working on text messaging support, since Grok can make calls but cannot yet send texts, along with a Grok and FSD integration for a chauffeur-like experience.
