This Land Rover Defender has a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 from a Corvette with 435 hp. The Defender also includes upgraded driveshafts, axles, and CV joints. A Project Kahn body kit with revised fascias and fenders has been added. The current Land Rover Defender is a serious machine, particularly in its high-performance Octa guise, thanks to its prodigious levels of power and off-road credentials. However, for many traditional off-roading enthusiasts, the current Defender is a little too complicated, which is why older models remain in high demand. For those who’d much rather own an old Defender, but don’t want to deal with any reliability issues, an overhauled example like this one from Osprey Custom Cars ticks all the boxes. With some serious grunt, that classic look, and some modern creature comforts, it’s perhaps the ultimate Defender. Read: Osprey’s Latest Land Rover Defender 90 Is Ready To Tackle Any Terrain As is so often the case with wild, upgraded Defenders of this sort, this one ditches the original engine for a 6.2-liter Corvette LS3 V8. It delivers 435 hp and 445 lb-ft (603 Nm) of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and rocking a heavy-duty LT230 transfer case. We can only imagine what it must be like driving an old-school two-door Defender with an engine like this. Widebody And Blue Behind the new engine, Osprey has ensured this Defender stands out from a regular one in the looks department, too. There’s a widebody kit from Project Kahn, including an overhauled front fascia with a new grille, different headlight surrounds, and a blacked-out steel bumper. The entire body is painted in Viking Blue Metallic, and Osprey has even added a satin silver powder-coated four-point roll cage. Perhaps the Defender’s most striking feature is the dark brown soft top with roll-up sides, perfect for those who want to enjoy an open-top driving experience. Things don’t stop there. Working alongside the new engine is a high-performance exhaust, aluminum radiator, dual electric cooling fans, stainless steel oil cooler lines and brake lines, as well as heavy-duty axles, CV joints, and driveshafts, ensuring this Defender can breeze through even the toughest of terrain, all while looking absolutely fabulous in the process. Plenty of welcome changes have also been made to the cabin, including a new 7-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker Rockford Fosgate/Memphis audio system, and even ambient lighting. The only downside of this Defender is the price, as it costs $209,950.
