It also provides our first breakdown of the R2's pricing structure. We already knew it would be split into three models (Standard, Premium, and Performance), with the latter two arriving this year, followed by the entry-level model joining the pack sometime in 2027. Now, we have more details about their available options and prices.Rivian (Rivian)The first R2 variant that will arrive later this spring will be the Performance model equipped with the Launch package. It's the most expensive model, starting at $59,485 (including the $1495 destination fee not included on Rivian's website). The Launch edition includes the R2's towing package, a special key, and access to Rivian's Autonomy+ advanced driver-assistance package. It can also be ordered in an exclusive Launch Green paint color, though the special pigment costs an additional $2000.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe Performance model will be followed by the $55,485 R2 Premium, which Rivian says will arrive later this year. Like the Performance model, the Premium comes equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain and a Rivian-estimated 330 miles of driving range. You can choose between the standard 20-inch wheels or pony up an extra $2000 for the larger 21-inch set. You can also pick either the standard black interior or the lighter option that's an extra $1000.Rivian (Rivian)Starting at $49,985, the Standard model will be the most affordable R2. However, it won't join the lineup until sometime in 2027. Unlike the other two models, the Standard R2 offers rear-wheel drive, though adding all-wheel drive increases the price by $3500 to $53,485. Aside from offering fewer color options and reserving the tow package for those with AWD, the Standard model has all the same options as its more expensive siblings. Getting a compact spare tire thrown in adds $705, while the Standard and Premium models can add Autonomy+ for a one-time fee of $2500.➡️ Skip the lot.
