Forget about the coach doors. The latest images from the CarBuzz spy photographers reveal our best look so far at the interior of the new GV90 luxury SUV, and there's something in there that you won't find in comparable models from BMW, Audi, and especially Mercedes-Benz. If you thought the buttons and switches in the Neolun concept were neat, boy do we have good news for you. Flagship SUV Will Get Concept-Like Interior CarBuzz/ValnetGenesis is bringing its flagship SUV closer and closer to production, and that means more testing on the road. That gives us more chances and opportunities to spot new details, like what these latest interior shots reveal.Based on the photos, the GV90's interior is going to be nearly identical to the Neolun concept that previewed it in 2024. It won't be a complete match, of course. The square steering wheel with no center was always non-starter, and the heavily contoured A-pillar speakers that cut into the cabin weren't likely either.CarBuzz/Valnet The basics are there, though. That includes a legit bank of switches below a large center screen. Storage space for passenger items, a hat, or sunglasses has been added. And the clock from the concept has been replaced by another dial. If you love buttons, even the doors will be button-presses to open. You can see the button on the door pull.We can also see the Genesis crystal ball sitting in the center console. It's not clear what the ball will do this time around, because there is a column-mounted gear selector visible. It's possible that, instead of being the gear selector like it is in the GV60, it works here as a secondary control for the main screen. Concept-Close, Quilted Seats IncludedGenesis GV90 spy photo (3)Other prominent details include a large storage space ahead of the crystal ball, plus what looks to be two wireless charge docks in front of that. Two speakers protrude from the dash like the pop-up units you'd find in a Jaguar or top-spec Audi, with more speakers in the pillars and above the driver making it clear this will be a high-end system.Look closely, and you can spot seat quilting that's also just like the Neolun concept's seats. It's fancier than other Genesis models, and it almost takes us back to the golden age of American luxury cars from the days of button-tufted seats. It's just too bad that the detail seems to be gone from the doors. We're obviously still learning more about the details on this soon-to-arrive Genesis flagship SUV. With the interior features we've seen, combined with the coach opening rear doors, it's clear that the Korean brand is shooting for the stars. But how high in those stars still isn't clear. The interior images suggest it won't be quite a match for some Range Rovers, and certainly not Bentley. Could this eclipse the BMW X7 and Audi's upcoming Q9 in terms of luxury? It certainly seems like Genesis is willing to try.If the GV90 delivers a level of smoothness like the G80 and G90 sedans, then the Germans might want to worry. We will see just how much they worry later this year, when Genesis finally holds an official debut for this long-awaited large SUV.Genesis GV90 spy photo (1)
