Ram Recalls 1.27 Million 1500 Trucks In the U.S.MotorTrend - MotorTrendRam is recalling more than 1.5 million Ram 1500 pickups worldwide because of a problem involving the seatbelt buckle anchors for the second-row center and driver's-side seating positions. Approximately 1.27 million of the affected trucks are in the United States, making this the automaker's largest recall this year.The recall covers certain 2019-2026 Ram 1500 trucks. According to the automaker, the affected seatbelt buckle anchors may not have been properly attached to the vehicle's body during assembly.In some crashes, an improperly secured anchor may not perform as intended, potentially reducing the effectiveness of the seatbelt and increasing the risk of injury to a rear-seat passenger. Seatbelt anchors are designed to remain firmly connected to the vehicle structure so they can withstand the forces generated during a collision.AdvertisementAdvertisementStellantis, Ram's parent company, said it is aware of one injury potentially related to this matter, but no fatalities have been reported. The automaker also said the front seat belt anchors are not affected.Stellantis will contact affected owners and ask them to schedule an inspection at an authorized dealership. Technicians will examine the second-row seatbelt buckle anchors and, if necessary, properly secure them to the truck's body. The inspection and any required repairs will be completed free of charge.Beyond the 1.27 million trucks recalled in the U.S., Stellantis says approximately 156,138 vehicles in Canada, 15,088 in Mexico, and another 74,084 trucks in markets outside North America are affected, bringing the worldwide total to more than 1.5 million vehicles.This is not Ram's first recall of 2026. Earlier this year, the automaker recalled roughly 12,000 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty pickups because of an incorrect vehicle-speed calibration that could allow the trucks to exceed the maximum speed rating of their tires. Last year, NHTSA opened an investigation into whether Stellantis had adequately fixed a previously recalled brake-transmission shift interlock issue affecting 2013–2018 Ram trucks.
