While we're still mostly in the dark about the revived off-road-capable SUV, Mitsubishi has been steadily teasing information as the reveal draws closer. The newest teaser was released on a dedicated website for the new Pajero and confirms the return of the distinctive triple-meter gauges.Illustration by Avarvarii - Car and DriverThe gauges, collectively called the Multi Meter, aren't a direct copy-and-paste of the original. Instead, Mitsubishi brought them into the modern era by moving them to a fully digital format. The trio of gauges provides real-time information, including the altitude, compass heading, ambient temperature, pitch and roll angles, as well as left-right torque distribution. Whether the gauges are built into the instrument panel, infotainment screen, or a dedicated third screen is unclear, but we're holding out hope for a dedicated unit.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe new Montero will be built on the same platform as the Triton mid-size pickup, and while the SUV is scheduled to debut in Asia later this year, a North American version isn't expected to launch until sometime closer to 2030. The new version is expected to be roughly the same size as the modern Toyota Land Cruiser, with reports suggesting that Mitsubishi is trading the old rear swing gate for the more popular liftback design.➡️ Skip the lot.
