A man says he bought an Audi RS 3 from Carvana. Shortly thereafter, he claims he started noticing that the vehicle wasn’t exactly in pristine condition. TikTok creator Aiden (@illegalroa and @reallyonlyaiden) recently explained what went down with the Audi RS3 he purportedly bought from Carvana. Aiden explains that he bought the Audi on Carvana due to the company’s ease of use. “I’ve officially owned my RS 3 that I got from Carvana for a week now. So let’s see if it was actually worth it. So Carvana’s kind of hit or miss. You basically slide a token in, this thing comes out of a vending machine. And it’s a simple process. They give better interest rates than most people. And decent prices. Kinda using it for convenience … it’s easy to get a car from there.” he says. He says there are tradeoffs for buyers who prioritize a seamless buying experience like Carvana provides. “[Carvana] becomes a dumping ground for a lot of cars. Especially performance cars. And so usually you get a turd when you get one of these things from Carvana or something along those lines,” he cautions. What Was Wrong With The Carvana Audi? After buying it, Aiden says he was surprised to see some scuffs, small cosmetic blemishes, and dings in its paint job, which he points out in the video. He also says that the car uses an excessive amount of coolant. All the issues led Aiden to speculate his RS 3 was in an accident, which he believes is common with cars sold via Carvana. “Usually they’ll get dumped because they were in a crash … maybe that’s why this one was,” he says. If the Audi was in a crash, Aiden notes that it probably “wasn’t terrible.” He continues, “I think it was just re-cleared. But they ran into something that scratched the crap out of the front. But no body panels got replaced, so not too bad,” adding, “This thing is almost a 10-year-old car at this point. So I can’t be too upset. It was a decent price, it’s a cool color and it’s a cool car.” He says it’s still too soon to decide whether it was a good purchase or not, but in a follow-up post suggests he’s going to keep the vehicle, which he says he figured would “turn into a beater” or he’d give it to his girlfriend. “I kinda cared about my credit more,” he says, noting that returning the Audi and buying another car would require him to apply for a new loan, which typically negatively impacts your credit score. Other Carvana customers have complained about allegedly undisclosed damages on vehicles they’ve bought from the company. Some say that the vehicles had damage prior to being sold to Carvana; others that theirs was damaged during the transportation process. On its website, Carvana offers guidance on how customers can address “imperfections” on vehicles “that were not notated” on the platform’s 360-degree tour. The company advises buyers to upload photos of the damage so that it can file a claim with its warranty partner SilverRock. The company notes that any damage must be reported within seven days of buying the vehicle. Motor1 has reached out to Carvana via email and Aiden via TikTok direct message for further comment.
