On June 18, Leapmotor announced that its cumulative global vehicle deliveries had surpassed 1.5 million units. Since commencing large-scale deliveries in 2019, the company has reached this milestone in seven years, with its growth rate continuing to accelerate. In October 2024, Leapmotor’s cumulative deliveries reached 500,000 units. The figure surpassed 1 million units in October 2025, while the jump from 1 million to 1.5 million units took just eight months. Leapmotor’s cumulative global vehicle deliveries had surpassed 1.5 million units. Put differently, the first 500,000 vehicles required 64 months, the second 500,000 took 12 months, and the third 500,000 was achieved in only eight months. The growth has been driven primarily by continued volume expansion in the domestic market. Latest data show that Leapmotor delivered 81,569 vehicles globally in May, up 81% year-on-year and setting another monthly delivery record for the brand. Of those, 61,401 units were delivered in China. According to data compiled by ChinaEV Home, the Leapmotor A10 has become the company’s most important volume driver, recording 22,306 sales in May and accounting for approximately 36% of total deliveries. Other products such as the B10, C16, and Lafa5 recorded volumes of roughly 4,000–5,000 units per month. Beyond the domestic market, overseas operations are emerging as a new source of growth. In May, Leapmotor delivered 20,168 vehicles overseas, accounting for nearly one-quarter of global sales. Europe remained the strongest-performing international market. In Italy, for example, Leapmotor registered 4,765 vehicles in May, an increase of more than twelvefold year-on-year, extending a streak of record monthly performances in the market. To date, Leapmotor has entered more than 40 countries and regions worldwide, with overseas users exceeding 150,000. The company has also become one of the largest vehicle exporters among China’s emerging EV brands. To support international expansion, Leapmotor is accelerating its localized manufacturing strategy. In addition to its domestic production bases in Jinhua and Huzhou, the company is advancing local production projects in Spain, Malaysia, and Myanmar. Most recently, the Gurun plant in Kedah, Malaysia—operated in partnership with Stellantis—officially commenced local assembly production. Distribution network expansion is also accelerating. Leapmotor now operates more than 2,000 sales and service outlets worldwide, including nearly 1,000 overseas locations. Europe alone accounts for more than 850 dealerships and service points, representing nearly 90% of its international network. Notably, as deliveries continue to grow, the founding team has recently increased its shareholding in the company. Earlier this month, Leapmotor announced that Chairman and CEO Zhu Jiangming and shareholder Fu Liquan had collectively acquired 11.6219 million H shares, involving approximately HK$490 million ($62.6 million) in capital. Following the transaction, the two individuals and their affiliated largest shareholder group collectively hold 24.71% of the company’s shares.
