Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028 and will continue over four years.Iveco Bus secured the first contract from Limoges as the lead partner in a consortium with Dalkia Electrotechnics. This contract covers the articulated buses for the city’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, as well as the sizing, delivery, commissioning, and maintenance of the charging infrastructure along the route, including transport system monitoring. BRT refers to specialised Iveco vehicles designed for high-speed bus lines. The second contract solely involves the delivery of 12-metre standard buses.“This project demonstrates our ability, together with Dalkia Electrotechnics, to deliver an integrated solution covering vehicles and the associated charging infrastructure, as well as commissioning, maintenance and system supervision,” said Giorgio Zino, Head of Commercial Operations Europe at Iveco Bus. “Through this approach, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting local authorities and operators in deploying high-performance, reliable zero-emission public transport solutions.”The GX 437 Elec Liniumn articulated battery-electric buses (in the High-Service configuration) are equipped as BRT vehicles with an overhead pantograph for opportunity charging en route, as well as two charging connections for depot charging. These buses can accommodate over 150 passengers, including 34 seats and two spaces for passengers with reduced mobility. Passenger compartment features include air conditioning, information displays, USB ports, and a camera-based mirror system replacing conventional exterior mirrors. The GX 337 Elec standard buses feature three entry doors, 23 seats, and two spaces for passengers with reduced mobility, according to Iveco Bus.
