The new 2028 Mercedes-Benz VLE-class is a luxury vehicle with sliding doors. The German automaker is calling it a "grand limousine," but we'll call it what it is—the fanciest minivan money can buy when it goes on sale in the United States sometime next year. For those who want to get an early glimpse of the electric minivan's snazzy, high-tech interior, the photos below provide all the most intriguing details. Mercedes appears to have pulled out all the stops for the new VLE-class, its first purpose-designed passenger van. That includes upscale interior materials and an available dash-spanning Superscreen. Like any minivan worth its salt, the VLE is loaded with useful storage spots, such as the open area beneath the van's bridge-like center console.Open up the console's bombay doors, and you'll find a bin that offers heated and cooling functions. Oh, and there won't be a shortage of cupholders throughout the van's interior. This giant panoramic glass roof will make the VLE's fancy cabin feel airier when it's opened. Also, notice the pillows on the second-row headrests, perfect for napping. These second-row captain's chairs have a deployable leg rest and massage functions, though other types of seats are also available.Mercedes offers a theater-like rear entertainment system with the available 31.3-inch screen that drops down from the ceiling. Ambient lighting further helps set the mood. The third-row bench seat can be had with a 60/40 split or individual seats like the ones pictured here that can be electronically folded. Like we said, there's no shortage of cupholders in the VLE-class, with these cool units that pop out of the second-row armrests. Models outfitted with the Superscreen feature a 10.3-inch digital gauge cluster and two 14.0-inch touchscreens for the center unit and the front passenger.Mercedes still needs to announce pricing for the 2028 VLE-class, which will happen before the U.S.-spec models go on sale sometime in 2027.
