The front and rear e-motors deliver 160 kW and 230 kW, respectively. V680 has the same battery, ICE, 800V charging and the whole drivetrain. The dimensions and weight are different. Deliveries of the first V800 units will begin in early September. The remaining V800 variants and the V680 will reach customers from late September. Larger than the Toyota Alphard As readers of CarNewsChina already know, the MPV segment is sexy in China. Unlike in Europe, where MPVs are seen as boring vehicles for old people and station wagons (or, as Germans say, kombis), and large crossovers dominate the market, in China, MPVs are hot cars driven by secret agents in action movies or by wealthy businessmen in real life. The V800 enters exactly this segment, in China, traditionally dominated by imported Japanese MPVs. Maextro positioned the V800 as chauffeur-driven business use, including luxury hotels, airlines, film companies, sports organisations, and large corporations. Its main competitors in China include the Toyota Alphard and Lexus LM, while the V680 will compete with models such as the Li Auto Mega, Zeekr 009 and other premium MPVs. Maextro V800 wants to be so premium that it offers curtains for passengers as standard. Interior The V800 features a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and two 17.2-inch displays at the front. Second-row passengers receive two individual seats with heating, ventilation, active lumbar support, and 20-point massage functions. A 41.6-inch retractable projection screen is installed behind the front seats. Other available equipment includes a rotating starlight headliner, a 41-speaker Huawei Sound audio system, an 8-liter refrigerator and heater, folding tables, and gesture-operated windows and sunshades. Optional rotating second-row seats can turn by 180 degrees, allowing passengers in the second and third rows to face each other. The third-row seats can fold into the luggage compartment, increasing cargo capacity from 758 to 1,926 liters. Six Lidar sensors Both models come with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 driver-assistance system and 40 sensors. The hardware includes six Lidar sensors, cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and 4D millimeter-wave radars. Maextro said the V800’s architecture was developed to support Level 3 autonomous driving, with redundant sensing, computing, power supply, and braking systems. The availability of Level 3 functions will depend on regulatory approval. Maextro is the highest-positioned brand within Huawei’s HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance). It was jointly established by Huawei and state-owned automaker JAC. Before launching the V680 and V800, the brand offered only the S800 luxury sedan. Toyota Alphard buyers previously paid substantial dealer premiums above the official price, although those premiums have declined as competition from Chinese luxury MPVs has increased.
