The new-generation LiDAR debuts on the MAEXTRO S800 and AITO M9 models. This afternoon, Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) officially held its technology refresh conference, where the MAEXTRO S800 and AITO M9 received upgrades in intelligent driving, interaction, and perception hardware. The upgraded MAEXTRO S800 with 896-line LiDAR is priced from 728,000 RMB, 20,000 RMB more than the standard version; the AITO M9 with 896-line LiDAR is priced from 479,800 RMB, 10,000 RMB more than the standard version. MAEXTRO S800 / AITO M9 Receive Major Upgrades Before officially releasing the new technologies, Richard Yu, Chairman of HIMA Terminal BG, reviewed the brand’s historical achievements. Currently, Huawei has partnered with five automakers to launch five brands: AITO, LUXEED, STELATO, MAEXTRO, and SANGUI. Data shows that as of March 3, 2026, HIMA’s cumulative deliveries reached 1.28 million units, ranking first in average transaction price among Chinese auto brands for 14 consecutive months, surpassing BBA in both sales volume and average price. As HIMA’s sales leader, the AITO M9 has delivered over 280,000 units in less than two years since launch, maintaining its position as the sales champion in the 500,000-RMB segment. It also topped the 2025 China PHEV (including EREV) and pure electric SUV resale value rankings with 83.1% retention rate. As HIMA’s highest-priced model, the MAEXTRO S800 has delivered 15,000 units in nine months since launch, securing the million-yuan luxury car sales crown for five consecutive months. Its delivery volume exceeded the combined sales of the Porsche Panamera, Mercedes-Maybach, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class during the same period. HIMA Cumulative Deliveries Hit 1.28 Million Units Building on this foundation, the AITO M9 and MAEXTRO S800 have once again upgraded their perception capabilities. In 2023, the AITO M9 debuted with the 192-line LiDAR; in 2025, the MAEXTRO S800 debuted with high-precision solid-state LiDAR and distributed 4D millimeter-wave radar. Data shows that empowered by high-perception hardware, as of March 3, 2026, active safety systems have prevented over 3.54 million potential collisions. Huawei Unveils World’s Highest-Spec 896-Line Mass-Production LiDAR At today’s conference, HIMA officially released its next-generation LiDAR—the world’s highest 896-line LiDAR in mass production, achieving another leap in perception capability. The 896-line LiDAR features an innovative dual-optical-path architecture, with dual laser receiving units (wide-angle + telephoto) enabling integrated imaging while supporting independent use based on scenarios. Officially, image-level detail resolution is improved by 4 times. Resolution Improved by 4x In terms of all-scenario safety, the new LiDAR can detect 14cm-height objects from long distances; perception range for low-reflectivity obstacles is increased by 190%; and recognition range for irregular obstacles is improved by 77%. Beyond perception upgrades, durability has also been enhanced—the new LiDAR’s window hardness is improved by 25%, and durability is doubled. According to plans, the next-generation LiDAR will debut on the flagship MAEXTRO S800 and AITO M9 models. MAEXTRO S800 / AITO M9 First to Feature Next-Gen LiDAR Additionally, both models have been upgraded across the lineup to Huawei ADS 4.1. The MAEXTRO S800 also gains multi-scenario lighting system coordination, gesture perception, and glass transparency state linkage capabilities.
