General MotorsFour Kentucky-made vehicles were listed among the 'Most American' 2026 models, according to the Cars.com American-Made Index (AMI) top 100.The AMI ranked three Kentucky vehicles in the top 15, with the Toyota Camry, assembled in Georgetown, the highest-rated Bluegrass vehicle on the list at No. 11. The Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition, both assembled in Louisville, followed at Nos. 12 and 13.The iconic Chevrolet Corvette, manufactured in Bowling Green, was listed as the 35th-most American vehicle. The Lincoln Navigator L and Ford Expedition Max rounded out the list at Nos. 88 and 89.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe top two vehicles on the list were the Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y.The AMI criteria for creating the index includes five factors: Location of final assembly, percentage of U.S. and Canadian parts, countries of origin for all available engines and transmissions, and U.S. manufacturing workforce. The percentage of U.S. and Canadian parts employs data from the American Automobile Labeling Act (AALA), which has been in effect since 1994. It requires automakers to report the overall percentage of U.S. and Canadian content, by value, for most vehicles they sell. The AMI says that some automakers report a single percentage per nameplate, while others break out percentages by powertrain, trim level or assembly location. While automakers don't furnish U.S. versus Canadian parts content and public data doesn't exist to extinguish each, AMI compensates by factoring in engine and transmission origins to accurately identify two major cost-intensive components of each vehicle. You can see the full top 100 and report here.
