The Honda Super-One (also known as the Super-N in some markets) is one of the more exciting vehicles to come from the Japanese automaker recently. The compact electric hatch has a stylish retro design and is fun to drive. Plus, Honda sells it at an affordable price, even in the United Kingdom. The Super-N will go on sale in the UK in July, and it'll start at less than 20,000 pounds ($26,900 at current exchange rates). The cost will make the electric hatchback Honda's least expensive product in the country, undercutting the Jazz Hybrid beginning at 28,475 pounds. It's presently not offered in the US, where demand for inexpensive vehicles is rising. Here's what we're missing out on. What Makes The Super-N So Super HondaThe UK-market Super-N comes with a 63-horsepower electric motor driving the front wheels. Drivers can activate a Boost Mode that temporarily increases the output to 94 hp. When in this setting, the car gains a simulated seven-speed transmission, and there's the sound of an internal combustion engine in the cabin, complete with a fake redline. The EV offers a combined range rating of 128 miles but can cover 199 miles in city mode. The suspension setup is one difference between the UK-market Super-N and the Japanese Super-One. Honda retuned the setup to be better for British road surface conditions."With its iconic looks, driving dynamics tailored to UK roads, and unique features such as BOOST Mode, every aspect of this model has been engineered to bring exhilaration and fun to every journey, no matter how short. Yet despite its focus on driver excitement, it retains all the traditional Honda values of practicality, efficiency and everyday ease-of-use, alongside an all-electric range that is ideally suited to urban driving or the average daily commute."- Michael Doyle, Head of Honda Automobile UK A Retro-Modern Look HondaThe Super-N's design takes inspiration from the Japanese-market Honda City Turbo II from the 1980s. They both feature a boxy body and blocky fender flares. So far, the company is only showing the car in the vibrant purple color Boost Violet Pearl, but the company promises a wide range of shades and customization options when the car goes on sale. There's even a two-tone design with a gloss-black roof and rear spoiler. The interior is simple and stylish. The driver looks at a rectangular digital display that switches graphics in Boost Mode. Plus, Blue ambient lighting illuminates the cabin at night, and the color switches to purple in Boost Mode. A simple-looking touchscreen tablet sticks out from the dashboard. The HVAC controls have their own section below the infotainment display and have physical buttons.HondaThere's room for two people in the back seat, but the photos suggest there's not much room to stretch out there. The seats can fold rearward (see above) to create a flat floor that would be ideal for carrying larger items.CarBuzz had the opportunity to drive a pre-production, Japanese-market Super-One in 2025 and came away impressed by the sporty little EV. On the track, we found the handling quite good, with planted composure but a bit of understeer. However, the setup wasn't too aggressive and still would have been comfortable enough to use on the road.Unfortunately, there are no plans to bring the Super-One to the United States anytime soon. The decision is disappointing because for folks in cities or the suburbs, the model seems like it could be a fun little runabout.Honda Super-N UK Market
