But that's not the most interesting success story coming out of Honda's latest sales results. Hybrids are booming for the brand, with more than 36,000 Honda hybrids sold in August alone, a new record. Of those hybrids, the fastest-growing one isn't the CR-V, as many might expect. High gas prices and EV hesitation make these vehicles the sweet spot for many buyers. Of course, efficiency is a major advantage, as the Accord Hybrid gets EPA ratings as high as 51/44/48 mpg city/highway/combined, with a range of up to 614 miles.The standard, non-hybrid Accord can only manage up to 29/37/32 mpg with a 474-mile range. That's efficient, but nowhere near the hybrid. Furthermore, the 204-horsepower Accord Hybrid is quicker than the non-hybrid model, with a 0-60 time of under seven seconds. The better performance complements the sharp handling of the Accord perfectly, but it remains comfortable and quiet. The company is only expected to switch to a hybrid-only Accord lineup around 2030.
