Porsche specialist tuner Gunther Werks has signed off on its bespoke Speedster program with the most exclusive restomod yet. It's a one-of-one 993-based project in which "performance was paramount," and which is more potent than the second-most powerful Chevrolet Corvette currently available today. "Project Endgame" Gets Insane Twin-Turbo Flat-Six Gunther WorksDubbed Project Endgame, this is the latest project from Gunther Works’ bespoke GWX coach-building program, and, given the rarity of the 993 Speedsters on which the series is based, is also the last. Indeed, the California-based Porsche tuner has commissioned only 25 hand-built Speedsters for customers.Like this previous Gunther Werks Speedster project, Project Endgame is powered by an original, air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six from the 993 generation, albeit bored out to 4.0 liters. Unlike the previous model, however, Project Endgame has also been equipped with two air-to-water intercooled turbochargers that spike output to 840 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque.For context, that's more than double what the single-turbocharged 993 Speedster was capable of back in 1995. Even more impressively, it's 21 hp more than the 6.5-liter V12 found in the $470,000-plusFerrari 12 Cilindri, and a full 170 hp and 200 lb-ft higher than even theChevrolet Corvette Z06 can manage.Combined with a lightweight 2,600-pound body, Project Endgame features the highest power-to-weight ratio of any Gunther Werks commission project yet, though an exact figure has not been disclosed.Gunther Werks Performance figures have also not been revealed. Gunther Werks did, however, confirm that said tectonic plate-shifting grunt is sent entirely to the rear wheels through an honest-to-goodness six-speed manual gearbox. The tweaked twin-turbo flat-six also revs to 7,500 rpm, akin to the current 992.2-generation Turbo, though still short of the recently revealed 911 GT3 S/C convertible. New Candy Red Bodywork Lifted From Porsche Turbo 2026 Gunther Werks. Project Endgame. Speedster-6Unsurprisingly, raw power is just one part of this exclusive build. The bodywork, for example, has been borrowed directly from the equally eye-catching Gunther Werks Turbo, albeit modified with larger rear quarter panels to accommodate its new turbocharged engine. Said modified body kit is finished in a distinctive True Candy Red paint – a stark contrast to the subtler Gemini Commission – and features actual gold detailing around the mirrors and headlight bezels. Even the twin-turbochargers have been gold-plated.Though still based closely on the original 993 Speedster design, the cabin now features carbon detailing across the dash and center console, as well as dyed leather seats and Alcantara trim. The most notable addition, however, is the 24-karat gold gear lever, an example of which we got a closer look back in February, and which features six gems set into a ‘1-6’ H-pattern on the top.Gunther WerksProject Endgame is set to make its in-world debut at Air|Water in Costa Mesa on April 25, 2026.
