Spy photographers have snapped the facelifted Porsche Panamera. Model will have an evolutionary design and an updated interior. Can likely expect powertrain updates for improved performance. The third-generation Panamera was introduced less than three years ago, but Porsche is already working on a minor facelift. Spy photographers have caught prototypes on numerous occasions and now they’ve spotted a car stretching its legs on the Nürburgring. Spied virtually undisguised, this high-performance prototype appears to be the new Panamera GTS as it features centerlock wheels and a circular four-tailpipe exhaust system. While that’s just an educated guess, it’s clear this will be a pretty evolutionary update. However, a closer inspection suggests we can expect thinner lower supports around the main intake. We also wouldn’t be surprised to find a lightly revised horizontal bar. Elsewhere, we can see updated headlights and a high-performance braking system with yellow calipers. The model also has bulky cladding on the rear end, which implies there could be a revamped bumper and diffuser. The model could also sport new taillights and revised “Porsche” lettering. SHProshots Spies didn’t get close enough for interior pictures, but previous images have suggested the car will be equipped with an all-new center console. This has led to speculation that the Panamera could replace physical climate controls with a new touchscreen. The prototype also appeared to have a new digital instrument cluster and a lightly revised dashboard. However, it appears many other components will carryover. Baldauf Powertrain details remain a mystery, but Porsche has a track record of delivering minor improvements. This means we can likely expect a little more power and, possibly, some extra range from the plug-in hybrid variants. Porsche currently offers seven different versions of the Panamera in America and the base model has a twin-turbo 2.9-liter six-cylinder engine developing 348 hp (260 kW / 353 PS) and 368 lb-ft (498 Nm) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in as little as 4.8 seconds, before hitting a top speed of up to 169 mph (272 km/h). At the opposite end of the spectrum, there’s the $245,200 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. It features a plug-in hybrid powertrain that consists of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, an eight-speed transmission, an electric motor, and a 25.9 kWh battery pack. This gives the car a combined output of 771 hp (575 kW / 782 PS) and 737 lb-ft (998 Nm) of torque, which allows it to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.8 seconds and top out at 202 mph (325 km/h). SHProshots
