The Hypercar features a chassis developed alongside ORECA and its Coyote V8 that was designed, developed, and built entirely in-house in Michigan. While the Mustang GT and Mustang Dark Horse also use the Coyote V8, their road-going engines retain the familiar 5.0-liter displacement instead.Tapping Into Their GT40 RootsFordOne of the most fascinating aspects of the project is where Ford intends to prep its entry for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Just a few yards away from where engineers are tinkering with the new hypercar, Ford did work on the iconic Ford GT40 more than six decades ago, proving that Ford continues to revisit its past to prepare for its future.History, however, won't count for much once the racing begins.
