However, it remains to be seen whether the Camaro will be offered with multiple engine options.In addition to an automatic transmission, the new Camaro is also expected to offer a manual option for stick-shift enthusiasts who prefer a more engaging driving experience.AdvertisementAdvertisementThat tradition will continue from the outgoing sixth-generation Camaro, which offered a manual gearbox with the 3.6-liter V6, 6.2-liter V8 (LT1 and SS), and supercharged 6.2-liter V8 (ZL1) models.Gen 6 Small Block V8 Could Power the New CamaroThe report also hints that Chevrolet is developing a performance-focused version of the next-generation Camaro. Although the automaker has yet to reveal official details, the recently introduced Gen 6 Small Block V8 is widely expected to play a key role in the model's lineup.Chevrolet is expected to base the new Camaro on an updated GM Alpha 2 rear-wheel-drive architecture, a platform that will reportedly also be used by the upcoming Cadillac CT5 and a future Buick sedan.The biggest change, however, will be the addition of two extra doors, transforming the next-generation Camaro into a four-door model instead of the traditional two-door coupe.
