Three-wheelers are often weird, wacky, and wonderful. Sometimes, they are all three. There aren't many viable in 2026, which isn't new, considering that these have also been a niche offshoot of the automotive industry, mostly dominated by manufacturers like Morgan Motor Company, Polaris, and Can-Am.One manufacturer we don't talk about enough is Campagna Motors, which, not too long ago, began a new chapter in its history with the introduction of one of, if not the most hardcore and track-ready three-wheelers of late, the Campagna T-Rex RR. In Case You've Never Heard Of Campagna Motors Campagna Motors Although Campagna Motors hasn't been around as long as Morgan Motor Company, it has been in business since the late 1980s. Campagna Motors was founded by Daniel Campagna, who envisioned a vehicle with Formula 1-inspired performance, distinguished by impressive acceleration, handling, and cornering, while prioritizing lightness. The first concept debuted in 1988, which marked the start of Campagna Motors. Only two years after its founding, a team was assembled, and that first completed product from Campagna would be on display at the 1994 Montreal Auto Show. There was a significant evolution from the first concept to the first commercially available model, revealed in 1995, which resulted from veteran designer Paul Deutschman revising the exterior design of the Concept 3.In its earliest years, Campagna's products were exclusive to Quebec, where it quickly garnered a following and saw a handful of improvements in the 2000s that improved performance and driving characteristics. A New Chapter And A Race-Ready F1-Inspired Three-Wheeler Campagna Motors It was only in 2001 that the T-Rex was introduced into the United States. Since then, Campagna Motors has only grown, moving into a new facility in the late 2000s and eventually expanding into new markets, including Japan. By the late 2010s, Campagna Motors was in dire straits, having filed for bankruptcy in 2018 and seeking funding from new backers amid a restructuring of its finances.Initially, Campagna Motors failed to secure backing and, by the start of 2019, was on the brink of shutting down. However, that wasn't the end of Campagna Motors, as in 2019, the company was acquired by a new owner, ushering it into a new chapter. This new era of Campagna Motors' history was marked by the debut of an evolution of the T-Rex three-wheeler that commanded greater performance, dubbed the Campagna T-Rex RR. How Does It Compare To America's Three-Wheeler Bring A TrailerThe Campagna T-Rex RR is one of the most powerful three-wheelers ever offered to the public. In fact, it's second only to another three-wheeler called the Boss Hoss Dragon that commands 563 in its most potent form. However, as far as three-wheelers with steering wheels as their helms, the T-Rex RR is the most powerful of the three-wheelers on offer in 2026.This Canadian three-wheeler draws its power from a 1.4-liter, naturally aspirated Kawasaki inline four-cylinder engine producing 208 hp, only marginally more than the Polaris Slingshot R. This power unit offered significantly more power than the T-Rex produced before Campagna Motors' revival in 2019, which relied on a BMW inline six-cylinder engine that produced 160 hp and 129 lb-ft of torque.Paired with the T-Rex RR's four-banger is a sequential six-speed transmission that allows it to reach 60 mph from a standstill in less than four seconds. The RR's four-cylinder revs higher, produces more power, and allows the RR to reach a far greater top speed than the Polaris Slingshot R.Bring A Trailer While able to go faster and quicker than its contemporaries, it delivers impressive stopping power through Wilwood 4-piston calipers, fed by braided stainless steel brake lines. Its weight is another defining aspect of the T-Rex RR. Its featherweight design is the result of using lightweight components from tip to tail. Compared to the most track-ready Polaris Slingshot available, it is far lighter, weighing only 1,098 lbs, whereas the Polaris Slingshot R weighs 1,648 lbs in its lightest configuration. The RR model is founded on a tubular chassis supported by a steel roll cage.Supporting the featherweight three-wheeler is a fully adjustable RR5 coilover suspension system, featuring a front double-wishbone suspension complemented by a double-sided rear swing arm to aid traction and stability. At both the front and rear, the RR relies on custom adjustable shocks to adjust compression, damping, and rebound. It is this system that enables the T-Rex RR to achieve 1.3G of lateral acceleration, a level comparable to the average lateral acceleration of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.Bring A Trailer Beyond Polaris's offerings, the Campagna T-Rex RR outperforms the front-runners in the niche three-wheeler segment. Compared to models like the Morgan Super 3, which offers an impressive array of options and extras to personalize it, the Campagna T-Rex RR is far more powerful and quicker, with nearly 100 horsepower more and a 3-second faster 0–60 mph time.Campagna's T-Rex RR model is by far one of the most capable names in its segment, but that competition-busting performance and F1-inspired design come at a hefty cost, especially compared to its competition. It's Not Cheap, Eh Bring A TrailerFor a brand-new 2026 Polaris Slingshot R, expect to pay at least $34,999, which is only a few thousand more than a brand-new Mazda Miata. This is one of the most expensive trims in the Slingshot lineup, and with all the options added, the price tag jumps to just over $50,000. For that price, you get a fully loaded example of this homegrown three-wheeler. In contrast, the starting price of a 2026 Campagna T-Rex RR is $64,999. Interestingly, this MSRP is not much more than the cost of a brand-new T-Rex 16S in 2018.Then, like the Polaris Slingshot R, there is an extensive array of options to personalize the T-Rex RR. This includes body color, which can be solid or metallic, and costs $2,000 for the most expensive option. It can be complemented by a carbon fiber element on the bezel for $250. Three options are available to customize the chassis color: a $750 red option and a $2,000 custom prismatic color option.Bring A Trailer The same applies to the wheels, with the base spec featuring bronze wheels, black-gloss wheels available for $800, and bespoke colors for $1,400. To equip the T-Rex RR with premium calipers, Campanga Motors demands $300, while the performance brakes cost an additional $400. Optioning for full leather seats will cost $3,000, and yellow seat belts another $300.Beyond color options, Campagna Motors also offers body-tailoring options for the T-Rex RR, including a paint protection kit, roof scoop, rear and front wheel fenders, and a tail light bezel. Other options include a footrest, a luggage compartment, and window tint. All in all, the total cost of a fully loaded example of the Campagna T-Rex RR is above $80,000, which is enough to buy a brand-new BMW M2. Still, for that eye-watering pricetag, you get a fully personalized example of a three-wheeler with nearly unrivaled performance.
