Image Credit: ivomat_all_about_cars/InstagramEarlier in the year, Aston Martin was seen testing what must be one of the most ridiculous-looking cars in recent memory. The car looked like a cross between a Le Mans racer and an F1 car, with many quickly jumping to call it the Aston Martin Batmobile. At the time, nobody had any idea what the car was or who it was for. It reemerged not long after, testing at the Portimao race track in Portugal, which is set to host the F1 Portuguese Grand Prix in 2027. It was around this time that reports as to who it was for began to emerge.Back in April, German publication Auto Motor und Sport reported that Ken Griffin, an American billionaire and Citadel hedge fund manager, had commissioned the one-off car, which is set to be several seconds faster than an F1 car around a track.AdvertisementAdvertisementNow, the car has reemerged, again testing in Portugal, except this time it is adorned in a striking green camouflage paint scheme. There is still no official word on the car, with Aston Martin yet to confirm that this wild Batmobile machine actually exists. What Could Be Seen in the Mystery Aston Martin's Latest TestIvo Matczak's Instagram account, ivomat_all_about_cars, captured the car testing at the Algarve International Circuit in Portugal. What was different this time was that the car now appeared in an interesting and striking green camouflage livery, compared to the plain back that it had previously been seen in.The car was seen lapping the Portuguese circuit, and in the video we can hear the glorious V12 soundtrack it is producing. While Aston Martin hasn't said anything about the car, it's likely it uses the same 6.5-liter Cosworth V12 as found in the Valkyrie, which produces 1,160hp. Rumors suggest that this Batmobile-looking creation will make 1,200 hp, which seems possible from the Valkyrie powertrain. Plus, it appears this is also a hybrid.A video from back in April showed the car turn off its V12 engine as the car pulled off the track. The car kept going under its own power, however, with no noise, suggesting that whatever was under the hood was backed up with electrical power. All that Aston Martin has told us about the car thus far is...well, nothing. They haven't even acknowledged that the car exists.Who Has the Supercar Been Built For, and Why?Image Credit: ivomat_all_about_cars/InstagramThe Auto Motor und Sport report back in April suggested American billionaire Ken Griffin had commissioned the car. However, as to why he had done so, well, that wasn't reported. It is rumored to be around 10 seconds a lap faster than an F1 car, so that may have played a role in Griffin deciding to commission the car. But if you have a bottomless pit of money, you can get virtually anything you want.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe car itself has an F1-inspired nose design, and we can also see exposed wishbones at the front as well as inboard dampers. Above the driver's head is an air intake, and the car has a Halo head-protection device, similar to that of an F1 car. We are all itching for more details on this wild machine, so hopefully Aston Martin will soon reveal everything. If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
