If we had been expecting a certain low-volume supercar long before the company announced it, is it any less phenomenal? We're about to find out, because a new report says that Lamborghini plans to show off a roadster version of last year's Fenomeno. The open-air hypercar will be revealed at a special event in May. Last Year's Ultra-Special Coupe Is This Year's Convertible Jared Rosenholtz / CarBuzz / Valnet Fenomeno was last year's ultra-exclusive Lamborghini. It was part of the "Few-Off" range, which is full of limited editions like the Reventon and Centenario, and in this case just 29 of them were made.Lamborghini loves nothing more than to follow up its V12 Few-Off coupes with a matching convertible. It loves it so much that late last week the company put out a press release about the four roadsters that followed their hard-top origin car a year later. That's what your English teacher would call foreshadowing. Now the Fenomeno Roadster has a reveal date. If you have the paper, then it's time to get it, because The Supercar Blog is reporting that the car will be showcased at Lamborghini Arena 2026. The second edition of that celebration of the raging bull will be held May 9-10 at the Imola Circuit in Italy. The Fenomeno coupe was the most powerful V12 Lamborghini ever built. A 6.5-liter V12 and hybrid motor deliver 1,065 horsepower, with 823 of those from the engine, leaving black lines on the pavement with performance that'll blow you away. When Lamborghini cuts the top off, we don't expect any of that to change. The car, which like the coupe is based on a Revuelto, would then become the most powerful convertible car that the company has ever built. The Fifth In A Line Of Open-Roof Bulls RM Sotheby's The Fenomeno's body and chassis are made entirely from carbon fiber. The brakes are new CCM-R Plus units that use technology borrowed from the company's LMDH race cars. It even came with a suspension with enough adjustments for a race car and optional Bridgestone slicks. Will the Fenomeno Roadster come with all of the same? If Lambo keeps the same old story, time again, then yes.Since Lamborghini is building 29 hardtops, there will probably also be 29 roadsters, though we're getting ahead of ourselves. The price tag will probably be a bit higher than the already multiple millions of the coupe. The Fenomeno Roadster will have some good company in the collector's garages where it will probably spend most of its life. If the owner is a completist, it will join a garage with the aforementioned four stablemates. They start with the Reventón Roadster from 2009. Lamborghini built just 15 of these fighter jet-inspired cars, against 20 coupes. It was the first Lamborghini with a fully digital instrument cluster.Next was 2014's Veneno Roadster. The coupe was a 50th birthday present to the brand, while the Roadster was limited to just nine copies. Centenario in 2016 marked 100 years since the birth of Ferruccio Lamborghini, the company's founder. It was also the final all-motor V12, because 2020's Sian Roadster added a 48V electric motor to the transmission to boost output from 759 hp to 808.Stay tuned. We should have more on Lamborghini's latest project soon.
