The model remains in the preview stage, with official launch timing, pricing and final configuration details not yet announced. The images were released on July 27 by Zhang Zhuo, general manager of BYD’s Ocean Series. The update follows earlier regulatory information about changes to the Seal 06. Exterior revisions and LiDAR sensor shown The 2027 Seal 06 retains the overall design direction of the current model but receives several exterior revisions. The front fascia adopts a simpler layout, while the headlight shape, lower bumper details and rear lighting design have been adjusted. Official images show a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor above the windshield area. BYD has not disclosed whether the hardware will be standard or optional across versions, nor have specific assisted-driving functions been announced. The revised Seal 06 is reported to measure 4,870 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width and 1,495 mm in height, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. Compared with the current Seal 06 EV, the reported length increases by 150 mm. We previously reported several developments related to the Seal 06 family. In December 2025, regulatory filings showed a larger body and an 80 kW increase in maximum motor output compared with the current generation. Earlier coverage in January 2026 detailed the Seal 06 series with a 630 km range and Blade Battery integration. EV and DM-i powertrain information For the EV variant, regulatory information referenced in previous reports lists two single-motor outputs of 120 kW and 240 kW, compared with 110 kW and 160 kW for the current Seal 06 EV. The revised EV is also reported to use a lithium-iron phosphate battery pack, while the battery capacity and official range figures remain undisclosed. The DM-i plug-in hybrid variants are also reported to receive powertrain changes. Both versions are reported to use a 175 kW motor. One variant is listed with a 150 km pure-electric range and an energy consumption of 15.2 kWh/100 km, while another is listed with a 155 km pure-electric range and 14.7 kWh/100 km. In May 2026, the Seal 06 DM-i sedan achieved a five-star ANCAP crash-test rating, providing separate safety-related information for the Seal 06 family. Market context According to China EV DatTracker data, the BYD Seal 06 recorded 10,080 units in June 2026, 8,415 in May, and 10,254 in April. Monthly sales fluctuated during the provided period, reaching a high of 27,459 units in September 2025. The sales figures provide market context but do not indicate the reason for BYD’s product update. The latest official images confirm the 2027 Seal 06 family update, but several details remain unavailable. BYD has not announced official launch timing, final pricing, trim structure or whether all reported configurations will be offered when the vehicle enters the market.
