Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia (JLRM) has announced it is now accepting bookings for the facelifted Land Rover Defender, which was revealed to the world last May. At present, the Defender comes in 90, 110 and 130 body designs, all of which are currently offered in pre-facelift form in Malaysia. The facelift brings design changes to the three, although they might not be immediately noticeable. The boxy profile of the Defender remains untouched but its bumpers now come with optimised surfaces finished in either Silicon Silver or Carpathian Grey Satin. There’s also a new textured pattern for the bonnet inserts and side vents, while the wheels get Defender-branded centre caps. Elsewhere, a gloss black grille bar is now standard and accompanied by a dark oval badge. A change that is more obvious involve the headlamps, which get a revised lighting signature featuring two bars on the side of the centre circle. The taillights are also darkened on the facelifted model that can be had in new colours like Woolstone Green and Borasco (a kind of grey). On the inside, the previous 11.4-inch infotainment touchscreen gets replaced with a larger 13.1-inch unit that completely fills the gap between the centre console and the upper surface of the dashboard. The centre console also gains a sliding section so you can hide small items in a closed cubby. A driver-related feature being added to the Defender as part of the facelift is Adaptive Off‑Road Cruise Control, which automatically adjusts the speed to maintain the desired level of comfort over undulating surfaces. JLRM isn’t providing further details such as pricing as well as available variants and powertrains for now, so we’ll have to wait for launch day.
