Simply The BestGM's pickup trucks are vital to the brand's success in the U.S. The Chevrolet Silverado leads that charge as one of the country's best-selling trucks, and it remains GM and Chevrolet's best-selling model, hands down. 2027 brought a heavily reworked Silverado that's been the talk of the town, with a new look, improved features, and even new engine options. With the new model on the market, we were curious whether Chevrolet also expanded the Silverado's options list, so we hopped on the configurator to see what's what.ChevroletFrom Simple to ExpensiveA pickup truck is inherently affordable; its true value is being simple, dependable, and capable; anything else is just fluff. We decided to spec out a Silverado 1500, and it starts with choosing the Cab and Box configuration. There are multiple options, but we chose the $50,795 Crew Cab with the standard bed layout. The first major price jump comes from choosing the specific Silverado model you want, with the most expensive option being the High Country, which adds $29,900 for a new total of $80,695. For that, you get all the trimmings you can want as standard, plus the top-engine choice: the new 6.6L V8 paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission.Exterior options are plentiful, with a nice selection of free colors, but you can pay for special paint that comes in 3 hues; the most expensive is the $995 Polar White Tricoat. There are a few rim styles to choose from, but the most expensive isn't on the exterior page; weirdly, you can spec it on the very last page, and it costs $3,750. Inside, you don't get many paid options; you can change the interior color palette, with the only extra being the $2,820 power-adjustable front seats with massage function.ChevroletSmall Stuff, Big PriceMoving to the final options page shows the other options you can get for the Silverado; these things might seem small at first, but they add up. The Black bowtie emblem will set you back $325; splash guards cost $350, and illuminated door sills add another $495. The controversial Multi-Flex tailgate is now $595, and you can also get a Kicker sound system embedded in your tailgate for $1,055 for those tailgate parties. Speaking of Kicker, the in-cab subwoofer or bedside subwoofer options require you to ask the dealer for the price, which means they could be expensive. With everything we could check off the Silverado 1500 options list, our final quote reached $97,592, which, when rounded, gets you closer to $100,000. Would you pay to add around $20,000 to a base High Country?Chevrolet
