This had exposed an issue with the car that the dealer had not told them about.Kayln Mitchell (@kaylynmitchell78) said that she had bought the car from a dealership in Missouri, and it was a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. Mitchell looked at the car with her husband, and while both noticed a few things that needed sorting, the car otherwise seemed good.It was at a good price, and it was too tempting, so the couple decided to buy the Tahoe. But it was on a drive down the road where a tire suddenly flew off the vehicle, leaving the couple a bit shaken and astounded.AdvertisementAdvertisementWith the wheel gone, Mitchell said the car was taken to a local repair shop. Thankfully, the incident didn't happen on a highway or interstate. It was then that they got a big shock, after being told the condition of the front wheel on the other side of the car, and what had happened to the car at the dealership. Why Did the Wheel Fly off the Chevy Tahoe?Mitchell recounted the story of how the wheel fell off the Tahoe. "About a month ago, we were driving down the road, and our front tire just fell completely off the vehicle. We had it towed to a repair shop here where we lived," she said. Once the car was at the garage, Mitchell and her husband had a bit of a shock."That then informed us that the passenger tire was about to fall off as well. The mechanic at My Car Guy Auto Group had put the wrong ball joints on our vehicle," she said. Clearly, something had gone very amiss with the car prior to it being sold to them. Mitchell and her husband had not been made aware of any discrepancies with the car's parts before they sold it.That led to some back and forth with the dealership. Initially, the dealer tried to play the blame game. But after a while, Mitchell said they "finally accepted a bit of accountability" and had agreed to pay the insurance deductible. However, it was after this that things got a bit weird. From Mitchell's video, it appeared the dealership had tried to 'ghost' the couple. This Is What Happened After tImage Credit: Chevrolethe Tahoe Was FixedAfter they'd agreed, the couple got the Tahoe fixed. However, after they rang the dealership up, they were met with crickets as they did not respond to calls or emails. "The vehicle's repaired, and now that it's time to call the shop and pay, the dealership has completely ghosted us," said Mitchell. "Now, my husband and I are left with thousands of dollars of debt on top of the vehicle that we purchased, and we have missed out on our entire summer plans. It's just been an all-around bad ordeal," she added.AdvertisementAdvertisementInterestingly, the dealership she bought the car from has good Google reviews. In fact, it has 194 reviews and an average of 4.4 out of five, with just a couple of poor reviews. While it was potentially dangerous, the wrong ball joints could be put down to an honest mistake. However, the fact that the dealer went cold on her afterwards is interesting.
