A woman asks an intriguing question about staying overnight at a Toyota dealership. You might be wondering why anyone would do that, and you’re not alone. Here’s what possessed her. TikTok creator Natalie Rae (@wanderlustingfox) posted the video over the weekend. She says, “You ever stayed the night at a Toyota dealership? I hadn’t. But when you hear they’re having some kind of crazy sale where they might sell a few cars for $79—$120 with taxes, title, and all that jazz—you stay the night at the Toyota dealership, right? That’s what we did.” In the caption, Rae wrote, “By the time the doors open, I will have been here 12 hours. But there’s a sale where some cars are $79 down, some are $79 a month, and some are $79 done deal. That’s all you have to pay to own it? Yeah, I’ll have a slumber party at the dealership. It’s cold. I’m tired. And I’m praying this will have been worth it because your girl needs this vehicle.” $79 Car: Is This A Real Deal? According to this Instagram video from Bill Penney Toyota in Huntsville, Alabama, this is a very real deal. In this case, a customer named Allison purchased a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country for $79. Here is another ad the dealership posted to TikTok back in August. A Reddit user posted to r/HuntsvilleAlabama a year ago asking if the $79 deal was a real thing. The person updated their post to say that “apparently it was real. There were two cars there that they were selling for $79, but they basically made you find it in their lot. It was first-come, first-served.” In a follow-up video, Rae clarified that the deal included three used vehicles priced at $79. She unfortunately did not win one. In a second follow-up video, she revealed that the vehicle is a Mazda 3. “They released us all into this fenced area of used vehicles and you went and picked one,” she said. “And a sales associate would come over and talk to you and tell you if you won it or not. I picked wrong, my husband picked wrong, but my friend …. Won a 2007 Mazda 3. And she paid the $79 and the tax and the title fee. She now owns that vehicle. It’s not a scam. It’s so real.” Viewers React To The Woman’s Toyota Sleepover For $79 Car In the comments section of the video, viewers flooded Rae with questions about the deal and stories of their own outrageous sale stories. “I slept on a Walmart sidewalk, PREGNANT, for a Zhuzhu pet on Black Friday 2008 for my oldest,” said one viewer. “So I’d say yes.” A second person said, “Stayed the night at a Mitsubishi dealer that was selling three random cars for $1. And yes. My husband’s car he picked was marked down for $1. Left there paying $113 after taxes, fees, and title. It was a 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage and this was in 2020.” “I did this because they were offering ONE used car for $999.99,” another person confessed. “We slept overnight and others started showing up around 4 a.m. We ended up with a great car with only 58,000 miles on it.” Motor1 contacted Rae via TikTok comment and direct message for comment.
