Let's be real—when most automotive enthusiasts think about going completely off the grid for a weekend of camping in the mountains, the vehicle of choice is usually a lifted Toyota Tacoma, a rugged Jeep Wrangler, or maybe an old-school Land Rover. You definitely don't envision dragging a $300,000 Italian supercar up a rocky dirt trail to sleep in a rooftop tent. But the crew over at the Supercar Ron YouTube channel doesn't exactly follow traditional logic. In their latest release, the team decided to bypass the conventional overlanding rig entirely and demonstrate how to properly survive the Utah wilderness in a heavily modified Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato.A Lamborghini Huracan, But Built for the DirtIf you assume this Sterrato is just a pristine garage queen masquerading as a rally car, you need to recalibrate your expectations. This specific Huracan is a certified absolute monster. Almost immediately after purchasing the limited-edition, lifted supercar, the owner slapped on a massive twin-turbo kit to push the output to a staggering 1,500 horsepower.AdvertisementAdvertisementOf course, rallying a highly-strung supercar through the dirt does come with some pretty brutal consequences. As the channel's videographer, Chase, explains during the mountain ascent, the car is already on its second engine."The turbo setup originally was sucking in way too much dirt," Chase revealed. "The original motor in this car was caked, and I mean caked. You can run your finger inside the motor and come out with a finger caked in mud".Despite eating its original V10, the car continues to handle the absolute abuse of the trail. While a lot of the internet assumed the Sterrato was basically just a marketing stunt to sell more Huracans, the suspension engineering is entirely legitimate."A lot of people when this car came out is like, 'Oh, some gimmick from Lamborghini that they can off-road a Huracan.' The thing is, we were just rallying this thing up the mountain… it has so much flex and it feels supple".AdvertisementAdvertisementOnce they actually found a suitable campsite next to a rushing river, the crew unloaded an absolutely ridiculous amount of gear. They weren't exactly roughing it with a simple campfire and a sleeping bag. They hooked up a portable Starlink dish for high-speed internet, fired up an electric griddle to cook burgers, and even hooked up a portable projector to play Super Smash Bros. on a massive screen right next to the Lamborghini."This is probably the first time this has ever happened in the existence of the world and the universe," Chase joked while firing up the Nintendo Switch. "Never once has someone camped in a Lamborghini with full internet, brought their portable projector, and threw it up on a TV".If you want to see exactly how ridiculous and awesome it looks to turn an exotic Italian supercar into a luxury mobile basecamp, you can watch the full wilderness run over on the Supercar Ron channel. Just remember, as they perfectly summarized at the end of the trip: "Don't let your dreams be dreams, camping in Lambos is fantastic".
