Lamborghini has revealed the Temerario Polizia for the Italian State Police, a special version of its hybrid supercar powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8. Capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 213 mph, it certainly looks like a car built for high-speed pursuits. However, the Italian State Police has no plans to use it for high-speed pursuits. Instead, the Temerario will be tasked with transporting organs for critical medical procedures where every second can make a difference. The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and gets additional assistance from a 3.8-kWh battery pack, bringing total output to 907 hp and 730 Nm of torque. This isn't the first time Lamborghini has created a Polizia version of one of its supercars. The collaboration between the Italian State Police and Lamborghini dates back to 2004, when the Gallardo was handed over for use in transporting organs. The partnership continued with the Gallardo LP 560-4 and the Huracan, which were deployed over the years along Italy's major motorway routes. The Urus Performante later joined the fleet and has been in service since 2023.A total of six Lamborghini models have joined the Italian State Police fleet, playing a key role in more than 200 organ transport missions across the country. The cars have also been used in more than 1,500 road safety education events aimed at promoting safer driving.AdvertisementAdvertisement"The Temerario delivers a combination of performance and efficiency which, in the hands of the police, translates into a tool capable of accomplishing the most delicate missions in the shortest possible time," Lamborghini stated in a press release.Lamborghini handed over the Temerario Polizia to the Italian State Police at its Sant'Agata Bolognese headquarters in the presence of the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi, Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann, and the company's Board of Directors."The new Temerario Polizia marks a collaboration between Automobili Lamborghini and the Italian State Police that pairs technological excellence with social value, placing the brand's performance and innovation at the service of the institution and its daily commitment to protecting citizens," the press release added.
