The fourth-generation Toyota Supra (known internally as the A80) is an automotive icon of the 1990s. Even before The Fast and the Furious made the vehicle a cinematic star, tuners were modifying the turbocharged inline-six engine far beyond the stock 320-horsepower output, in some cases beyond 1,000 hp.Over the years, Toyota's Gazoo Racing performance division has put over 300 parts for eight models back into production, including the whole 4A-GE engine from the 1980s AE86 Corolla. The latest extension of its Heritage Parts Project is a new interior part for the A80 Supra so that owners can make their car's cabin look as good as new. What's New For The Old Supra? ToyotaThe latest vintage part to be available again is the A80 Supra's dashboard panel. The single piece comprises the upper instrument panel surround and the passenger-side section. Toyota's announcement notes that this plastic piece endures significant abuse due to near-constant exposure to sunlight. Over the years, this can cause the panel to crack or discolor. The new dashboard uses modern materials that "address durability concerns," according to Toyota. Otherwise, the panel looks identical to the original, including re-creating the embossed grain texture. The Heritage Parts Project already offers the instrument panel section with the cutouts for the gauges, so someone could replace both to give their car a thoroughly upgraded cabin.ToyotaThe A80 Supra has a driver-focused cockpit with instruments and a center console oriented toward the person behind the wheel. Meanwhile, the passenger side is fairly spartan with just a pair of vents, the airbag cover, and the glovebox. In a time when large digital screens dominate dashboards, the Supra's wraparound cockpit filled with gauges is deliciously retro.ToyotaIt's certainly a far cry from the interior of the current Supra, which will also soon be out of production. Sharing its platform with the BMW Z4, the A90 Supra has a modest driver display with a tablet-style center screen mounted high atop the dash. The A80 retro panel will be available this fall. No pricing is available yet. Unfortunately, the piece is only available in Japan at the moment, and it's exclusively for right-hand Supras. If you happen to be in Japan, the GR Heritage Parts Project will have a booth at the Automobile Council 2026 show at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall. The company will also have a restored AE86 Sprinter Trueno using GR Heritage Parts there. In addition, the display will include a Lexus LFA and the available 4A-GE block, cylinder head, and oil pan baffle plate.Toyota isn't the only automaker putting classic parts back into production because Honda is now making sure classic models can stay on the road a little longer. It recently announced the Genuine Honda Heritage Reproduction Parts and Genuine Honda Heritage Compatible Parts lineups for new and updated components. Customers will be able to order the pieces from dealers.Source: Toyota
