The third-generation Audi Q7 comes with a three-litre V6 diesel engine featuring mild-hybrid technology and space for up to seven seats. TSP/Audi AG/dpaAudi's Q7 has returned, with this third-generation car gaining a striking new design and a range of interior enhancements. The original Q7 was launched back in 2007 and has become a mainstay of the range as the brand's largest and most practical SUV.Now, the Q7 has returned with a completely new design which is far boxier than the one used on the previous-generation car. Gone is the more rounded look of this model's predecessor, replaced instead by an altogether squarer appearance.AdvertisementAdvertisementUnlike many of the Q7's rivals such as the BMW X5 and Volvo XC90, the Q7 is only going to be offered with a single engine option. It's a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel which will be offered with either 245 or 299 hp. All models get quattro all-wheel-drive as standard, too, while mild-hybrid technology is used to help boost engine responsiveness.Inside, the Q7 gets a similar setup to many recent Audi models with a large wraparound infotainment system incorporating all key functions and media controls. It also has ChatGPT integrated into it so that drivers can 'ask' the car a question on the move and receive full-sentence answers.A new panoramic sunroof uses a thinner structure so that it doesn't eat into headroom, and the whole screen will turn opaque when the car is parked. While Audi will still offer the Q7 in familiar seven-seater specification, it'll also be available with five or six seats as well. You'll get up to 670 litres with the rear seats folded flat, too, or 2,075 litres with all rows folded down.Audi has yet to confirm specifications for the Q7, but has stated that it'll cost from €87,900 in the EU or £82,000 in the UK when it goes on sale in July.
