It's hard to stand out in the Mustang world, but RTR Vehicles is doing a pretty good job at it. The North Carolina company founded by drift legend Vaughn Gittin Jr. has been upgrading Mustangs for quite a while now, and the relationship with Ford is so good that Ford now builds the Mustang RTR EcoBoost, fitted with visual and performance tweaks, right in the Mustang factory. The only other such collab in Mustang's history was with Shelby. But this new offering goes way beyond the factory-built Mustang RTR. It goes beyond Shelby, too, stepping closer to the world of bespoke builds not far removed from Porsche, Mercedes, and other high-end brands. And it starts with a $12,500 package. RTR Gets Personal With New Signature Package RTR VehiclesThe new Mustang RTR Signature Package opens up a wide variety of customizations for Spec 2 and Spec 3 RTR owners wanting something that stands out even more. Visual upgrades include everything from stripes and graphics to wheel finishes, custom-colored badges, painted aero components, even the company's signature LED air intakes on the grille. This isn't accomplished by working in an online configurator. The Signature Package actually starts with a one-one consultation between the vehicle owner and RTR's team. That includes an RTR designer to help guide the process, executing the owner's vision while staying true to the RTR ethos. After all, this is still an RTR vehicle... Mustang owners wanting something like Calvin and Hobbs peeing on a Chevy Bow Tie will have to look elsewhere. “The Mustang RTR has always been about giving enthusiasts a vehicle that feels personal, exciting and Ready to Rock. With the Signature Package, we’re giving Spec 2 and Spec 3 owners a deeper level of collaboration with our team, allowing them to bring their vision to the RTR Lab and work directly with us to create something that’s uniquely theirs – both visually and behind the wheel.”- Josh Hipp, sales and marketing director for RTR Vehicles. Signature Package Includes Performance Upgrades, Too RTR VehiclesWhile vehicle owners dial in the exterior look, RTR offers enhancements under the skin. The package includes the company's RTR Tactical Performance coilover suspension, height-adjustable with a wide range of compression and rebound settings. An "RTR by Borla" cat back exhaust system plugs in an aggressive sound. And for RTR Spec 3 cars only, owners can add a Whipple supercharger upgrade kit that bumps the 5.0-liter V8 to 870 horsepower. You'll have to pay an extra $2,500 for that, though. The rest of the package checks in at the aforementioned $12,500. Given the custom nature of the package, all the work is done at RTR's headquarters – aka the RTR Lab – in Concord, North Carolina. The Signature Package is available now for any existing Mustang RTR Spec 2 or Spec 3 from 2024 on up.RTR Vehicles CarBuzz Insight – Why This Matters: While not as extensive as bespoke services such as Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, Q by Aston Martin, or Ford's own Mustang GTD custom paint options, RTR Vehicles is extending a notable, personal touch to a car that unquestionably has a very devoted, passionate following. Moreover, a $12,500 price tag, while not throwaway money, feels like a legit bargain for receiving specialized one-on-one service.Of course, you need to have a Spec 2 or Spec 3 car, which can start at around $70,000 for a 2026 model. Still, it's far less than a GTD, and you don't have to fill out an application explaining why you should get one.ford-mustang-rtr-signature-package-8
