The two vehicles are five and six years into their respective model runs, which means these updates constitute the mid-lifecycle update for the electric duo. Though the bench seat is still standard, buyers can now spec individual second row seats in the R1 SUV, which also means the two second row passengers in turn get their own armrests and cupholders, plus their own butt heaters.AdvertisementAdvertisementOf course it doesn't come free, with R1S captain's chairs costing $1,500 on Premium and Performance trims. They also added a new wheel and tire package that improves off-road capability without compromising on-road range. It's now standard on the base Premium trim, but you can also option it onto the Performance trim at no cost.Range is now estimated at 300 miles for the Premium, 380 for Premium Long Range, and 348 for the Performance trim. Rivian also reworked its naming scheme. The Dual-Motor model is now called Premium, Tri-Motor gets renamed to Performance, and Quad... well, it stays Quad. Meanwhile, the interior can be had in Slate Sky Signature, Black Mountain Signature, or Ocean Coast Signature guise.You'll be shocked to read this (sarcasm, of course), but improvements across the board also mean price increases across the board.
