Plastic trays were placed beneath the locked rear wheels to reduce friction while a winch slowly dragged the car toward the rear of the transporter. Inspecting the underside showed scrape marks consistent with forklift handling during transport, but there were no obvious punctures or major structural damage to the battery enclosure. That alone provided reason for optimism.The inspection did reveal several mechanical issues elsewhere, including a broken rear suspension component, damaged axle hardware, and a shredded tire.
