To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily WardsAuto newsletter.Lotus, the British brand majority-owned by China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, has unveiled its new Emira 420 Sport, the company's most powerful, lightest and aerodynamic four-cylinder internal combustion engine sports car.The track-day-focused 420 Sport becomes the new halo model of the Emira lineup with a Mercedes-AMG derived 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 414 hp and 368 lb-ft, up from 400 hp and 354 lb-ft in initial First Edition models already offering the AMG engine.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe 420 Sport claims an acceleration time of 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 186 mph.The car has also been on a diet and is 55 pounds lighter and with the same amount of extra downforce over its base sibling.
