Official announcement for the Li i6 delay This is not the first time the Li Auto i6 has encountered delivery disruptions. In late November last year, the model experienced an earlier delay due to unstable supply of core components. At that time, Li Auto offered customer compensation at a rate of 600 points per day. First, customers who choose to continue waiting will receive delay care points under existing rules, at 600 points per day, capped at 20,000 points in total ($287). Li i6 Second, customers seeking earlier delivery may opt to switch to a version equipped with Sunwoda batteries. Li Auto stated that this version meets the same safety and quality standards, and the company will additionally offer an extended battery warranty of two years or 40,000 km to ease concerns over the supplier change. The third option allows customers to switch to currently available models, including the refreshed Li Auto L-series, the Li Auto i8, and the MEGA. The Li Auto i6 is the company’s second all-electric SUV following the i8. It was launched in September last year with a starting price of RMB 249,800 ($35,920) and is positioned as a strategic model in Li Auto’s transition into the pure electric segment. Li Auto offline store During the Q3 2025 earnings call in November 2025, Li Auto President Ma Donghui stated that monthly production capacity for the i6 is expected to steadily ramp up to 20,000 units by early 2026. Li Auto CEO Li Xiang has previously disclosed on social media that the internal target for the i6 is to achieve stable monthly sales of 9,000 to 10,000 units. Combined with the i8, which has a target of 6,000 units per month, and the MEGA, the company aims for total monthly sales of 18,000 to 20,000 units across its pure electric lineup. Latest figures show that Li Auto delivered 406,300 vehicles in 2025, down 18.8% year-on-year, falling short of its revised annual target of 640,000 units. In December 2025, monthly sales of the i6 reached 15,994 units, up 135% month-on-month, with full-year sales totaling 28,971 units, indicating solid market demand. The renewed delivery delay highlights the ongoing challenge of supply chain stability as Li Auto advances its transition toward all-electric vehicles.
