Goodbye Huracán, Hello TemerarioLamborghiniLamborghini has finally unveiled the replacement to its long-running Huracán Super Trofeo race car, Temerario Super Trofeo, which will compete in the company’s one-make racing series beginning in 2027.The new model debuted during Lamborghini Arena at Imola, where factory driver Marco Mapelli demonstrated the car between races during the second round of the 2026 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season. The event, held near Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese headquarters, also featured more than 400 Lamborghini vehicles and served as a showcase for the brand’s motorsport future.Lamborghini officials say the Temerario Super Trofeo represents a major technical shift for Lamborghini Squadra Corse. “The Temerario Super Trofeo represents a completely new direction and marks the beginning of a new era for Squadra Corse,” Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann said. “For the first time, our Super Trofeo cars will be powered by a turbocharged powertrain and will be built entirely in-house at Automobili Lamborghini.”AdvertisementAdvertisementDerived from the road-going Temerario and positioned below the recently introduced Temerario GT3, the new race car is powered by a twin-turbo V8 turning out 620 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox supplied by Hoer.LamborghiniThe car weighs 3,069 pounds and features a hybrid-aluminum and carbon-fiber-reinforced chassis with an integrated FIA roll cage. Lamborghini says the suspension geometry, aerodynamics, and steering systems have all been redesigned to improve both drivability and performance.“With this product, our goal was to develop a car that is driver friendly while integrating more sophisticated components,” said Lamborghini Head of Motorsport Andrea Reggiani. The Temerario Super Trofeo shares several components with the GT3, including the braking system and gearbox, but retains unique features specific to the one-make championship. Lamborghini says the turbochargers are identical to those used in the road car, while the race car also uses four-way adjustable dampers from KW Automotive.Pricing starts at €295,000 plus taxes in Europe and $399,000 in the United States.
