Just as traditional calligraphy is highly meticulous, often taking artists years to master the precise stroke, Hyundai took the same approach with the IONIQ 9 Black Ink model. Available exclusively in Abyss Black Pearl, the new IONIQ 9 Black Ink gains stealthy elements, including a black chrome front skid plate and rear garnish, gloss black roof rails, and trim-exclusive 21″ Turbine Design alloy wheels. Hyundai also added black window moldings, inner door handles, and a blacked-out Hyundai emblem up front to complete the look. Inside, everything is blacked out, including the seats, steering wheel, buttons, and screens, with the black interior aluminum trim. As the top-of-the-line trim, the IONIQ 9 Calligraphy Black Ink is loaded with nearly every piece of tech Hyundai offers. The Black Ink Edition is equipped with a 10″ Head-Up Display (HUD), 14-speaker premium Bose audio system, and a panoramic sunroof. Other premium features include a digital Full Display Rearview Mirror, first- and second-row relaxation seats with power recline, heated third-row seats, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, and an eco‑suede headliner. The Black Ink trim is based on the most powerful IONIQ 9 Performance, featuring an all-wheel-drive powertrain that delivers 422 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. It’s also powered by the same 110.3 kWh battery and 800V architecture, providing 311 miles of range and DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in about 24 minutes. Like other IONIQ 9 trims, the Black Ink Edition features a built-in NACS port for recharging at Tesla Superchargers. While Hyundai has yet to reveal prices, the 2027 IONIQ 9 Performance Calligraphy Black Ink model will be more expensive than the current top trim option, the Calligraphy Design, starting at $76,490. The new IONIQ 9 Black Ink will be assembled at Hyundai’s plant in Georgia and will be available at dealerships this summer.
