Recently, a blogger exposed a set of spy photos of what appears to be a brand-new hardcore off-road vehicle under STELATO, an automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and BAIC. From the spy photos, it can be seen that the camouflaged vehicle is located in a facility marked with the words “BAIC New Energy Factory”. Although some characters in the middle are obscured, based on the leaks and deductions, it is likely the “BAIC New Energy STELATO Super Factory”. Stelato new model spy shot. Looking at the details of the camouflaged vehicle, the new model adopts the classic “boxy” shape of hardcore off-road vehicles. Its overall contour is square and rugged, with straight and smooth lines, forming a sharp contrast with the streamlined sedan style of the STELATO S9. At the front, a vertically arranged rectangular headlight cluster is highly striking. The interior features a dual-light source layout, with a semi-circular LED light strip on the upper part and a small circular light source below, offering a highly recognizable design. From a side view, the vehicle is expected to exceed 5.1 meters in length, with a very straight roofline and waistline. It is equipped with roof rails, and a Huawei 896‑line dual‑optical‑path LiDAR is expected to be mounted on top of the front section. Combined with Huawei’s typical multi‑radar redundancy approach, the car will feature a full‑surround perception layout. With the addition of Huawei Qiankun ADS 5, the vehicle’s intelligent driving performance is worth watching. BAIC Stelato Super Factory. The intensive flow of spy photos of the new vehicle is no accident. As early as the end of 2025, during the annual live broadcast of HIMA, the chairman of Huawei’s Terminal BG revealed that 2026 would be a “big product year” for the STELATO brand. Zhang Jianyong, chairman of BAIC Group, also stated: “In 2026, there will be original models like SUVs and MPVs – absolutely different.” The newly exposed spy photos of the “boxy” SUV are likely part of this new product matrix. After its launch, the vehicle will become the first hardcore off-road SUV in the HIMA product lineup. While accelerating product deployment, the STELATO Super Factory is also undergoing a comprehensive upgrade. It is reported that since March this year, the factory has initiated a full technological transformation covering the four major process links: stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly, with a total investment of 1.991 billion yuan. After production begins, the factory’s overall delivery capacity will double, while also enabling efficient adaptation to multi-model mold changes, fully preparing for the simultaneous launch of the two new vehicles.
