The milestone coincided with the Chengdu base surpassing 7 million units in total vehicle production. The company states the vehicle is built on FAW-Volkswagen’s 35 years of manufacturing expertise and the Chengdu base’s accumulated production of 7 million vehicles. Its exterior design features a bamboo-inspired aesthetic, while the interior boasts a 2,820 mm wheelbase and 91.3% space utilization. It comes equipped with zero-pressure seats and an anti-motion sickness mode. In terms of intelligent features, the model includes an AI smart cockpit and Horizon Robotics’ driver-assistance solution, supporting door-to-door navigation assistance. The company also stated the vehicle meets new national safety standards for electric vehicles.This production milestone arrives exactly one year after China FAW, Volkswagen Group China, and the Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee signed the "Jetta Development Cooperation Agreement." Since the agreement was signed in August 2025, Jetta has completed asset and charter confirmations, registered its technology entity, refreshed its brand identity, and expanded overseas. It has also secured new energy factory qualifications and product approvals. The Jetta brand has now been incorporated into Chengdu's roster of local automotive brands.An official from Chengdu’s Longquanyi District noted that the district accounts for 85% of Sichuan Province’s automobile output, with manufacturing value exceeding 150 billion yuan. The mass production of the Jetta M6 is considered a key component of the local new energy vehicle industry's growth.FAW-Volkswagen Jetta Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. stated it will focus on the M6 launch. The company plans to establish a quality assurance system covering manufacturing processes, quality control, and user service workflows, spanning every stage from customer contact and test drives to delivery and after-sales support.
